San Francisco lifers Girls have given us the sentimental, slow-mo partying of “Hellhole Ratrace,” the carefree apartment-and-rooftop lipdubbing in “Lust For Life,” and today their Album yields this clip for “Laura” with lots of split screens, topless smiles, and citywide gallivanting. (The toplessness is of the sorta-NSFW variety, so be warned.)

Album is out via True Panther.

“San Francisco lifer” Chris Owens is from Texas, y’all

  2. Laura kinda looks like Kate Hudson, circa Almost Famous. Pitchfork has these guys doing one of those rooftop performances – it’s really good.

  3. i met these guys in a diner in Glasgow today. really nice and cool.

lead singer had an amazing light up skull necklace as well. that just sealed the deal.

  4. I can’t help but love the living hell out of these guys, the music is so…..nice.

I’m tired of the casual sexism associated with this band…

are you serious charlie?? i gotta believe the album is about his frustration in dealing with women. many of lyrics express a longing to be with a woman. “i only wanna be with you.. all of the time.” & countless others are simple expressions of feelings towards women. i can’t even believe im submitting to the overanalyis of this purely genuine, and expressive record. i love these gus for thier knack for expressing honest emotions without coming off, vein, flowery, or too ambitious. I’m sorry Animal Collective, I’m sorry Camera Obscura, this is the record of the year and get ready to hear the imitations. We could see an effect like the Strokes had on the rock/pop genre.

      RECORD OF THE YEAR
