Citing exhaustion from “recent touring commitments” (i.e. playing 37 CMJ shows), guitarist Baria Qureshi has left the xx, at least temporarily. The band’s been forced to cancel their European tour dates as a result. More at The Quietus.

When I saw the xx, I was stunned that such a rag-tag group of teenagers could make such great music. I was honestly scared when they started, and was a fan when they were done. This news doesn’t surprise me though. I’m sure they all have plenty of issues they are still working out.
