Welcome to the fourth annual Gummy Awards! The following results are based on thousands of Stereogum and Videogum readers’ votes for the best of 2009′s music, film, television, and Web videos. Because it’s almost 2010, you guys also decided on the Best Album Of The Decade. Yes, you only have yourselves to blame for yet another Aughts list. The results showcase great taste in all categories, so a slap on the collective back is in order.

As promised, to mark this historical decade-ending Gummy Awards, we gave away our biggest prize to date: Last night a randomly selected Floridian named Tom Callahan made a killing. Tom gets the Top 50 Albums Of The Decade Gummys winners on vinyl (courtesy of Insound), a 160GB Apple TV (AppleLala TV?), and a bottle of 2007 Lewis Vineyard Riesling (AKA “Peanut Riesling”) sold by your boyfriend Jeff Dunham under his Holidays tree. He’s a self-described “HUGE Grizzly Bear fan,” who had Veckatimest at No. 1 on his ballot. To prove People Really Win On Stereogum.com, he’ll be sending us a photo of himself with the goods after they arrive. You can congratulate Tom via the Twitter account he never uses.

As far as the voters who didn’t win? You’re all still winners to us! Though not all of your votes were useful. “Was there a video of Michael Mcdonald w/ Grizzly Bear?,” for example. Or, “That Taylor Swift video that Kanye hated on.” As you can imagine, Scott drank 37 38 pots of coffee while going through the votes by hand and normalizing all the results (We need an intern. -Ed). Also of note: Bon Iver’s For Emma, Forever Ago did pretty well this year. Again. It was a controversial inclusion last year, because it was a re-release of an album he put himself in 2007, but this year it is most certainly ineligible! Let’s see how he does in 2010! Hearts are fickle things, yes, so for indie crush, someone voted “no longer Zooey Deschanel.” :( Maybe because of this? Or this? (Or maybe the voter was inspired by Paul Scheer.) Since we’re talking about comedians, it’s worth noting that our new Celebrity Ballot section includes a bunch of Gummy votes from funny people (Aziz Ansari, Fred Armisen, Patton Oswalt, Andy Samberg, etc.) along with some of your favorite musicians. Take a look to see if you and Sasha Grey love the same Sunn O))) record.

We also commissioned a very special essay on the subject of Gummys 2009, by Carles of Hipster Runoff fame.

Finally, since the poll did ask for gender, we know that the #1 album among male voters was Animal Collective, but the #1 album from female voters was Grizzly Bear. The great gender unifier? In the Web Video category, Keyboard Cat.

On January 5 of this year, we wrote a tongue-in-cheek post Is Merriweather Post Pavilion The Best Album Of 2009?. The answer awaits.

Without further ado, here are your 2009 Gummy Awards winners.
