This Sara-penned track from Sainthood is a sparser affair than previously video’d song “Hell.” So “Alligator” gets a fittingly minimalist treatment here. The Quin sisters plus three others do a synchronized dance with some serious “Cross Bones Style” to it, though Tegan & Sara pick much better costumes for “Alligator,” with some winter crochet wraps that exist somewhere between Oak and Etsy.

Sainthood is out now via Sire.

Emm Gryner - Up Close on Radio 2 Drive

I loved The Con but after a couple listens Sainthood left me cold. Is it worth giving a second chance?

    • I felt the exact same way during my first few listens of Sainthood. Although I agree, The Con is a lot better, Sainthood is still great. Don’t worry, you’ll find yourself enjoying it more and more as you listen to it. The songs don’t get old either, it’s good stuff.

  2. Beats “The Electric Slide”…I suppose.

  3. Sainthood is a great album. It doesn’t quite have the magic that The Con had in my opinion, but is awesome nonetheless.

Alligator is a fun, catchy track, but I’m not too keen on this video. Tegan and Sara look gorgeous as always, but I just found the dancing a little ridiculous. They can definitely do better.

  4. I like Sainthood a lot more than The Con.

  5. The “winter crochet wraps” are knit alpaca LARRY. scarves.
