We’ve already heard “Don’t Give Up” and “It All Feels Right,” but now you can hear all of Washed Out’s Paracosm and start wrapping your head around what Ernest Greene has been working on for the last year. It’s a gorgeous, massively orchestrated record, and really feels like the killing blow to the original image of Greene as someone making simple, sweet chillwave tunes on a laptop in his bedroom. The best parts of the album though, such as “Great Escape,” blend the two aspects of his career in a way that he really hasn’t been able to pull off this well before. If you can’t already tell from the thickness of the sound and general lushness, the record was produced by Ben H. Allen who (in addition to helming Youth Lagoon’s Wondrous Bughouse) has become the go-to guy in the last couple year to help a lot of bands produce their best work. Check it out on iTunes.
