60GB iPod With Photo Features

MSNBC reports: Fan sites buzz with talk of photo-ready iPod. Yo Apple, slow down ... I'm still on the 1st Gen. Stupid Moore's Law.

i am on 1st gen too. sometimes i feel like i'm being punished for jumping on the bandwagon too early. everybody has more gigs than i do! apple should have some kind of trade-in system so i can send them my craptastic old skool pod and get a discount on a shiny new color screen 60gb extravaganza!

Check out the Archos AV140 at archos.com. It acts just like a VCR as well as being able to play video on screen, record MP3s, take pcitures and videos, and it's cheaper than a 20 gig iPOD.

Go figure.

f-ing apple. i just got an ipod for my birthday. you should be able to like buy a little device that upgrades your current apple product. they should make them so you can post on your weblogs while looking at other weblogs!

hey, does anyone else prefer the 2nd gen ipods over the newest ones? personally, I don't like the new fangled clickwheels. Do you think apple sells's older models for cheaper?

I bought a 3rd gen a month before they released the 4th gen -- not knowing they were going to release it. Extra gigs for the same price? grrr. That being said, I'm much happier that my buttons are not on my scroll wheel but that's just me.

OK, being a guy who likes Apples, this is a load of crap. Apple fansites always talk about making the extreme iPod and shit. This is just another one of their geek inventions that won't happen in the near future.

They come out with a new generation each year. So this won't be out till September of 2005 AT LEAST, if not later. Don't worry guys.

i had a 2nd gen iPod that i really loved. i hated the buttons on the 3rd gen. i just got my free iPod from that freeipods.com web site, and i have to say that i really really love the new click wheel. its very intuitive. it's cool that apple keeps coming out with these new versions of the iPod. it's a pretty genius business strategy, plus not to mention they're going to cream the competition (i.e. sony's new walkman thing that macy gray does the awful commercial for. ick.)

OK being a guy who thinks Apple sells elitism to those who fool themselves into thinking that they don't believe in elitism (Have you ever seen a Dell user nearly as self-satisfied as an Apple user?) I find it funny that you're all worried that they've come out with a better product. If they came out with a 200 gig model tomorrow, would it make your 20 gig version work any less? And besides, having 60 gigs approaches narcisism (i.e., in love with the size of one's record collection).

Replace Ipod with BMW, and gigs with horsepower, and you can see the parrallels between Apple users and materialistic snobs. And I have no problem with indulging in some materialistic snobbery, but at least those Beamer drivers know they're buying an excessive and flashy piece of machinery just to show-off. Can you say that about Apple users?

you actually can catch a price break when apple puts out anything new by going to http://store.apple.com

and if you scroll towards the bottom on either the left or right they've always got a big Red SAVE logo, click on that and you can order the stuff they're trying to clear out.

It's also cool because it's got all the warranties and crap on it.

(used to be a Apple Sales Rep... sorry for the pitch)

>If they came out with a 200 gig model tomorrow, >would it make your 20 gig version work any less?

I think I'm more worried about value for my bucks, but that's the thing with jumping on early, can't avoid it. I was sucked into the "10 gigs isn't just enough, it's overkill!" the last few years. The thing is you get tired of rotating music in and out and chances your collection grows AFTER you get your ipod. I had about 5 gigs to start with and now it's in the upper 30s plus a few mp3 cds. It's exponential!

So my advice, get something big.

I've managed to save up roughly $67845 in my bank account, but I'm not sure if I should buy a house or not. Do you think the market is stable or do you think that home prices will decrease by a lot?
