After two weeks of reader-tipped BTWs from Lawrence, Kansas, we mentioned there seemed to be something going on in that city, despite William S. Burroughs up and dying a few years ago. After the proclamation went out, we received notes...

Chromeo's the Montreal/New York electro duo of childhood friends P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel) and Dave I (David Macklovitch). Gemayel handles keyboards/synths and talk box. Maclovitch, the other vocals and guitar. The Deluxe Edition of their 2007 album Fancy Footwork, aka Fancier...

Before we got to soak-in the woozy organ and raw yelps of "In the New Year," the last taste we had of the Walkmen was that one-off "Lemon Hill." As we mentioned then, the Men said "Lemon" wasn't "exactly in...

Every week, we dig in the archives for videos that we find noteworthy, memorable, or just unbelievably stupid. And then, Jon McMillan breaks 'em down for you. Why Video Hangover? Because when you watch as many videos as we do,...

M83, aka Anthony Gonzalez, toned his sounds down on fifth album Saturdays = Youth, but the emotions remain teenage, achy, and perfectly romantic. Gonzalez is releasing album standout "Kim & Jessie" as a digital single 7/22 on Mute. It includes...

Who's blocking the release of the Grey album again? Because personally I think it's super complimentary to both artists.

I picked up a copy of the album last week in L.A. and I have to say that it is nothing short of brilliant... I was left wondering just how much work was involved in this mash-up... Very cool shit...

As those Guiness cardboard cuts say, "BRILLIANT!"
So effing good.

the grey album is cool but definitely overrated in these here comments. if you wanna hear more dangermouse, listen to his album with jemini called "ghetto pop life." it was released last year on lex records and has way more replay value than the grey album.

The Beatles' side was against it. Jay-Z encouraged it.

Damn you Micheal Jackson!!!!

BRILLIANT! I think it was Capitol/EMI, not Apple blocking it, wasn't it? But I hear Michael Jackson stopped the release of the Beasties' "I'm Down" back in the day. I saw Rick Rubin (& Chris Rock!) at a Beatles convention once so I know he's a big Beatles fan. I'm so curious what he thought of the Grey Album. Methinks it's genius. Funny that Danger Mouse used to hang with the Elephant 6 crew in Athens GA (Olivia Tremor Control & friends). Still haven't heard the Jay-Z album!

I meant Capitol/EMI not MICHAEL JACKSON. Since when does an apple replace Michael Jackson? Idiot.
