Pregnancy 101 For The Federlines

KEVIN: So, I just heard on BET ... you're all pregnant and shit?
BRITNEY: Yeah, four months! I'm so excited y'all.
KEVIN: Oh good. I thought you were just getting fat. Am I the father?
BRITNEY: Of course silly! Unless it's Pat O'Brien's. I'm pretty sure it's totally yours.
KEVIN: [Nervous laughter] So, like, do you know how to raise a baby?
BRITNEY: Don't you have like two or three already?
KEVIN: I guess.
BRITNEY: Don't worry. It'll be fun y'all.
KEVIN: Okay. We should like ... buy some magazines?
BRITNEY: [Concerned] False tabloids?
KEVIN: No, magazines about babies and shit.
BRITNEY: Oh, OK! Good idea! Hey, do you have a Marlboro Light?
KEVIN: Didn't you quit?
BRITNEY: Oh yeah. Oooh I think I feel it kicking!
KEVIN: No babe, that's just the Taco Bell.

Stereogum will be back on Monday. Have a great weekend everybody. I know we still need to pick a winner for the You Might Be An Indie-Yuppie If... contest. Didn't expect so many hilarious responses. Here's one to add: "...if you buy a $28 Bloc Party t-shirt at Urban Outfitters." Yes, they sell them.

oh come on guys, are we really this immature?

information like this is half the reason i go to blogs, and i can guarantee you that most of the people who tried for tickets today may have been just as big beck fans as you were, but they also got the info from here or some other blog, and not the mailing list.

so stop all of this ridiculous talk about being more "deserving" of tickets because you were big enough fans to be on the mailing list. there will be another beck gig. there will probably even be another secret beck gig.

you'll live.

you might be an indie-yuppie if you think you are the only one that knew about a "secret" show

I'm pissed off the ticket site just was slammed
- is it Scott's fault - no, of course not. Who says anything about deserving? Selfishly, I'm mad that I didn't get tickets. There's no perfect way to distribute tickets to fans of popular artists, but Beck isolated people by area code and city, which is more than most artists will do.

Hey, it's your website. Post all you want, but realize I (and alot of others) think it was a dick move. Ditto to productshopnyc and the others. People have been chatting about this on messageboards for awhile, hoping Beck would do another secret show - yes there'll be other shows. Will he play the same rare songs? Hell no.

I'm glad you're back to your white trash news. Stick to it.

anyway, this song is NOTHING compared to the postal service version! why do ppl like it so much??? it is like a crappy high school band cover. i just wasted a buck, muthachuckers!

28 dollar tshirts. seriously what is up with the rising cost of the concert tee. and I'm not talking about at the kiss "reunuion" either. the first time I saw it was at the liars show about a year ago, 15 bucks for a tshirt. you can slag me all you want about the sweatshop free tshirt, but I can guarantee it doesn't cost more than two or three bucks a teeshirt more. and yet the cost still rises for the consumer for a crummy tshirt with a crummy unicorn barfing on another unicorn on it. that same tshirt which will be pitted out before summer is done.

Jesus, it's not like the show was free. You still had to shell out major cash for it. Seems like you won by not having to.

I'm with Jed. In the future, all shows will be "secret" to drive up the ticket price and create the illusion of exclusivity.

maybe it's because I don't have a real job and I'm perpetually temping and living paycheck to paycheck, but I just can't wrap my mind around the concept of shelling out major bucks to see this thing, or getting mad about not being able to. It's just a goddamn show. It's not important. I'd rather buy groceries.

$25 for a ticket to see Beck probably isn't major bucks for most...but over $50 for Nine Inch Nails? sadly, too much for me.

yeah, you're right- it is a chunk to me, however. Granted, I'm cheap as hell, but I'm also poor, and once you're poor for long enough, you stop even wanting the shit you might have if you had the money. Which is a blessing, really. 50 dollars is out of control.
