Tralala - "The Girls Say"

I picked Tralala's self-titled album last weekend at Other Music, and liking it smacks of the same kind of secret shame as liking The Go-Go's, and it's not just because it's girl pop.

But there's this one song ... I heard it, and it was sort of chilling, because it took me back to college, and it totally reminded me of this girl with whom I had a highly dysfunctional on-again off-again making out arrangement. One of the lyrics goes, "I want you to reel me in and hold me close but/when we're together I just shake and cry."

Now this is the official soundtrack to me thinking back to those times. And, like, I am NOT usually the kind of person who makes a song the official soundtrack to something after one listen.

When you say "on-again, off-again," do you mean one of you had an odd fixation with the light switch? That does sound dysfunctional.

I had the same make-out situation with a guy who was a closet Go-Gos fan....last I heard he and his partner Miles were doing improv in San Francisco...I'm just sayin'....

Oh for fuck's sake. Shame over liking the Go-Go's? What are you, five years old? They freaking rule.

Way to waste "first post" status, Alex.

I'm not ashamed of liking The Go-Go's... but when I was a younger indie rock kid, I was more hesitant to admit that I liked bands that had been on TV. We've all been there...

Hey, can you send me that track? I've been trying to find it everywhere, the only thing around is a 2-minute cutoff version.
