Do We Know It's Halloween?

That "Do They Know It's Hallowe'en?" video got Lindsay quoting my favorite Mr. Show sketch, "Monster Parties: Fact or Fiction."

Dracula ... The Wolfman ... The Mummy ... Would these monsters ever assemble as a group in a party setting, to dance or eat and drink together? While skeptics declare it impossible, novelty songs seem to suggest quite the opposite.
If I remember correctly, the mummy was drunk (he loved the funk) and one of 'em was dancing with Frankenstein's bride and nearly redied. It was perfect. Got torrent?

Sidenote: What's with Smoosh stealing their name from Mr. Show? Will Clive and Ian Shropshire sue? Dunno...

Anyway, on with the Halloween post...

AUDIO
Beware Of The Blog has a 70 minute horror music mix, Product Shop points to a "Weird Sisters" MP3 from the new Harry Potter (Jarvis Cocker, Jonny Greenwood, and Phil Selway performing "This Is The Night"), and PCL Linkdump has tons of other scary audio (via Vegan). Post your own Halloweeny MP3 links in the comments.

GIGS
Some concert choices in the NYC area on Monday: Fischerspooner @ Irving Plaza, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings @ SOB's, Mountain Goats and Grizzly Bear @ Knitting Factory, and my pick: The Head Set as the Police performing Reggatta de Blanc @ Pianos.

SEND US PICS
If you're gonna dress up as someone music-related, please send us a photo! Here are last year's reader-submitted Britney & Kevin Federline costumes. Ideas for this year: Steve Jobs, Billie Joe Shaver, Buckethead... ?

There's your spooky introduction to the Jerkin James Whitcroft piece from Mr. Show

Also note that it's part of the Halloween Mix I posted up here: http://www.yewknee.com/mix

Noticably missing are featuring Self - Kiddies, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince - Nightmare on My Street, and that new Wyrd Sisters track.

That Oddio Overplay mix is nuts.

Electric Eel Shock are playing Halloween night at Rock Star Bar. Caught'em last night at Irving opening for Bloodhound Gang. They're wonderfully entertaining, plus they've got kickass Japanese metal chops.

I'm going as Robert Smith because I have no money and it's the easiest costume to pull off.

Someone else is doing the whole Weezer album? We did it earlier this year and surprised everyone by dressing up as old men....GEEZER! pics: http://www.singleclick.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=29656

GREAT call on the Smoosh reference! When we did our Oasis parody, the Fookin Wankers, we did a whole 91X interview only answering "dunno".

did you know "weird sisters" are being sued by "wyrd sisters"? something about when the film finally came out they'd changed the spelling from weird to wyrd and there's already a group called wyrd sisters. that and that magic car being stolen from a studio lot. bad week for harry potter.
