Stereogum Readers Poll: Miss Indie Rock 2005

The "indie rock hottie" poll took forever 'cause none of you spell the same way. And then I had to research who was in what band. So that's why I'm listing the ENTIRE tally before revealing who won. Plus, some of you were pretty explicit about Tegan NOT SARA and vice versa.

I took the liberty of disqualifying all the men you submitted (contrary to popular belief, Brandon Flowers and Carlos D are guys, as is Sam Beam, wiseasses)! I allowed Antony, though, 'cause he would want it that way. And he ranked pretty well!

    Damn, taj, your car goes from 0-RIGGED in about .5sec flat. You can't search for text in graphics, which is where you'll find emily. In the pie chart. With 21% of the total votes. 'WTF?'

    She's just the most stereotypical boring indie rock girl, and maybe the girl with the most recognizable name by idiots. That's why she won. But, I'm a fag so maybe I don't understand the whole "I want to fuck my boyfriend's post-grad student buzzkilling older sister" thing. You know? It's a straight thing.

    i get the pleasure of periodically passing Ms. Emily Haines on the street....when she's not on tour...and believe me kiddos...she is even hotter in person...

    and i'm happy to see the sufjan xylophone player so high on the list...i guess i'm not the only one who watches her more than mr. stevens at their shows...

    word up. neko case has a total butterface, and just because she looks and poses like a Suicide Girl doesn't mean she's hot. Besides, have you ever seen Jenny Lewis's tits? They look even better in person.
    Chan Marshall(Cat Power) is beautiful though. ANd Katrina Kerns is hottttttt. Neko Case is comparison to all of those is NOT!

    Agreed! I met her late last year when working as a production assistant for a music fest. Talk about a sweetheart and extremely gorgeous in person! She's my favorite girl crush.
