Proper review to come. For now I'll say: my first Lips concert was amazing. Difficult to take pics with confetti and balloons in your face, but I imagine it's just as difficult for Wayne to sing under the same conditions. It wasn't a concert. It was a celebration.

One of the best nights of my life. I still can't wipe the stupid smile off my face.

In the flaming lips documentary you learn that Wayne has many of the same suit. He even washes them himself, at one point you see him soaking one of his more blood soaked ones in some woolite.

I had never seen them before, so I loved it and walked out feeling super happy. But I don't think I would enjoy it the second time around.

One of the greatest bands ever. Wish I had seen them earlier in their career.

The Lips really are a phenomenon. Hate or love them, they do things no one else in music is doing.

Plus, 'she don't use jelly' was a one-hit wonder ten years ago and they resurrected their careers in the mainstream.

i don't own any of their albums but i know most of their stuff through my brother as he loves them. i've seen them 3 times and they just put on such an amazing and although it sounds "dumb" their shows are so much damn fun. can't wait to see them when they tour in support of the new album.

I haven't heard any of the new album yet. I've tried to stay clear of it. The Flaming Lips are one of my favorite bands and I want to wait to hear the songs in the context of an album. I just hope it's not a disappointment. I'll buy it whether I like it or not because of my undying fandom for them, but it would break my heart if the Flaming Lips weren't invincible any more.

Is it only strange to me that no one ever talks about their music?

Just did. I'm really enjoying the new album, it's not even close to their best stuff, but it's good.
