New Sufjan Stevens - "The Henney Buggy Band"

A Stereogum.com premiere:

Sufjan Stevens - "The Henney Buggy Band" (MP3)

That descending horn refrain is absolutely stuck in my brain. And thank god (it's replaced "Bacardi ... and cola ... they get the job done!").

Could Avalanche pull off some consequetive album-of-the-year Tom Hanks-style shit?

Anyway, enjoy. I expect y'all to suck my bandwidth dry. It's cool -- Sufjan approved (after many brunches involving silly costumes). The Avalanche: Outtakes And Extras From The Illinois Album is out 7/25 on Asthmatic Kitty.

[I mentioned in an earlier post, but you might've missed it: our mp3 feed is down for maintenance, so in the meantime, just check the site for your daily downloads.]

Any truth to the rumor the Sufjan shot his load all over Illinois and not rosie thomas?? Seriously, can he save a good song or two for the next state?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets that Bacardi and Cola song stuck in their head. For days. At least I'm not alone.

This would have been awsome to have shown up in your mp3 feed, except that it isn't working.

I always think I'm going to get tired of Sufjan. But then I get more and it just gets better.

Is that a Chevy© Avalanche™ on the album cover? Hasn't Mr. Sufjan learned about this trademark thing from the Illinois cover?

It sounds like Postman Pat. In a good way, obviously, Pat and his Cat kicked arse.
