New Mobius Band - "A Hint Of Blood"

We're not in the habit of posting demos, but when they're this hott we can make an expection. Mobius Band, who gave us last summer's guitar-poptronica Loving Sounds Of Static, have some new tunes creating serious buzz among the bigger indie labels, who will no doubt be listening when the Brooklyn trio performs new material at Merc tomorrow night. The band was kind enough to let Stereogum exclusively premiere one of the new songs with you. Think early Walkmen, but synths instead of Mercata's ghostly piano.

Love this song (and video) too:

That's wonderful. Definately different for them (I hear what you mean when you say Walkmen), but not too out there, expecially if you've seen them. They rock a little more live, and are really nice, good-natured guys from the little I got to chat with them.

The last drum loop before the song ends reminds me of a club thumping ass shaking club rap anthem...

As the brother of the drummer, I just want to mention that there's no drum loop. Noam uses electronic triggers on his set, so it sometimes sounds like he's a machine. Trust me, he's a real person.

I could have sworn seeing them play a show about a year back in Detroit and a drum machine was used. But, I saw them 2 weeks ago in New York and indeed the drummer was triggering samples with his sticks. Really crazy phenomenal stuff.
