Gawker's Music Blog: Idolator

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting with the two writers of Gawker's not-so-secret upcoming music blog. We had a nice chat about K-Fed and Lindsey Buckingham while Lockhart bought us drinks. They wouldn't tell me what they've christened the blog network's latest brand.

Blogebrity, however, has discovered it's called: Idolator. (That's pw-protected; don't bother clicking ... yet.)

Launch isn't for another few weeks, so in the meantime we can only imagine what they'll focus on. Or peruse this Google Cache for hints.

One thing's for certain: there's no money in blogs. I once read it in an interview with Denton.

But good luck kids!

C'mon, Gawker, appease me and call the new brand "Rawker". Please?

Begging the question: Who are the writers?

Alex Balk, current Gakwer writer, is one of them.

I bet it'll be as good as Sploid and Oddjack.

I don't think the writers want me to say who they are? I dunno -- maybe they don't care. I'll ask them. It's not Alex, though.

And RAWKER would've been such a good name! I guess it was taken?

Nick D wants you to believe there is no money in bloging, meanwhile he is pulling in somewhere about 80-100K a month on Gawker Media. Personally, I think this site will be better, I am assuming it will be the same style as all the other gawker sites but focuses on music
