Tim Burton Makes A Music Video (For The Killers!)
I think we can all agree the video for "When You Were Young" did not have enough skeletons. The clip for "Bones" will fix that. It's being directed by Tim Burton (his music video debut).
The band is really "(beetle) juiced" according to MTV News:
Mark Stoerner, bass: "We've shot all our parts and now the video is being worked on. It's going to have computer graphics and models ... we're not really sure how it's going to turn out ... we just let Tim do his thing."Wow, the Killers sure love Tim Burton. Not that there's anything emo with that.Ronnie Vannucci, drums: "Like Mark said, we don't really know 100 percent what it's going to be like. We put our faith in Tim."

I absolutley cannot wait for this video. The Killers are getting more awesome by the nanosecond. I've never been a huge Tim fan (except for Edward Scissorhands) but I can tell already that this video will be kick-ass.
And seriously, how can you not like the Killers? I honestly agree with Brandon that their upcoming album will be the best in 20 years.

Why do I get the feeling that some killers message board out there sends in its minions to blogs that post killers comments to huff their balls. The killers music is comparable with tim burtons recent remake of charlie and the chocolate factory; A pretty shell, with nothing inside. No substance, thought or creativity...

Emo--exactly! Don't me wrong, I love The Killers to pieces, but Tim Burton is about as emo as it gets. Which is no big deal, because I *gasp* rather like emo, too. BUT Brandon's really got some nerve bashing emo like that and then getting freakin' TIM BURTON, God of the Emos, to direct their next video.
Otherwise, Bones is a great song and I'm looking forward to it. It just seems kind of sucky that it has to be tarnished by, well, Brandon being a hypocrite (in this instance).

As far as the Killers are concerned. Yeah they are cool. I got tired of hearing the same song from them on the radio all day, but aside from that they are alright. As far as Tim burton goes. I love Burtons works. I wasnt impressed with Charlie and the Chocolate factory one bit. Depp is great but still no Gene Wilder. As far as Emo and Burton together.....Well personally, Burton predates any B.S. label or genre such as Emo and therefore is not held in its confines. If emo just equals emotional then everyone is emo and lets get rid of this stupid label. I for one am nauseous with the whole thing. Go Burton great job. Go killers for Burton doing your video. I bet its gonna be great.

A video directed by Wes Anderson would be representative of emo.
I wish Tim Burton would direct a video for Gang Gang Dance, Xiu Xiu or the Knife.

i must say when this rumor floated on the net a few months back, i thought it was a publicity stunt (a rather weird one). i guess i underestimated the power the killers hold (and i have a feeling i'm not the only one). tim burton isn't exactly the type of director who is lured by merely big bucks. he has a reputation to protect after all unlike say brett ratner (god that man should not be allowed to work in hollywood ever again) so he had to be a fan of the band somehow to say yes to this.
but i don't get the "tim burton = emo" thing. unless "ed scissorhands" is the only tim burton you've seen. maybe gus van sant or cameron crowe but not tim burton. wait, why are we even talking about emo here?

Yeah, exactly...all the emo kids love Tim Burton and worship all that weird crap he makes. (I'm not a fan of the guy, obviously.) Tim Burton himself is not representive of emo, it's just that emos really like his work, especially Corpse Bride and that wierd Christmas one.

anyways, IIRC, tim burton refused to cast tom cruise (already a bonafide movie star at that time) in the part of ed scissorhands and went with johnny depp (coming off from the success of 21 jumpstreet but had unproven box office potential) instead. for that alone, i'd always have high respect for him -- regardless of the suckiness of planet of the apes. so what? every great director has had one misstep, scorsese had cape fear, spielberg had a.i., even stanley kubrick with eyes wide shut!

It's upsetting to me to hear so many people think that Burton is either EMO or Gothic. Surely Burton's earlier work was more aimed for Gothic audiences, but his recent material is nothing of the sort.

The fact that he's doing a music video is exciting! I wouldn't care who he's doing the video for, as long as the song is good, the band is at least half decent, and it gives Mr. Burton a great palette of creativity. The Killers isn't at all that bad and the song itself is a rather intriquing track that has my curiousity peaked for the video.
Tim Burton is a fascinating director who people do not understand. He is not gothic, nor EMO, so stop claiming that he is. Just because some of his past work is displayed in stores like Hot Topic doesn't mean that Burton falls into that category.
The people who I find say that Burton is either one of the above mentioned styles, is one of the idiots who claim that The Nightmare before Christmas is a Tim Burton film.

tim burton king of the emo's.... TIM BURTON has been around for roughly 10000000 before the concept of emo was even around. perhaps people of the emo genre do appreciate him, but it's probably for his unique viewpoint and style, not because he aspires to be their ideal. But none of that really matters. what matters is that he's an amazing director with a fabulous vision and that the killers are a good band with enough taste to appreciate him.

wesley wished tim burton would do one for Gang Gang Dance, Xiu Xiu or the Knife, but the dresden dolls are totally his style. doesn't coin operated boy sound like a nurseryrhyme, but inside, its about sadness and unffufilment, aong other things. theyd be perfect.
by the way tim burton is GOD and the killer SUCK.

tim burton is definitely not emo. He is actually a genius. Sleepy Hollow was amazing and i can not get enough Burton-Depp collaborations. Although The Corpse Bride was a little dry. But then again that has nothing to do with Burtons Directional work. And who can resist Beetlejuice? and the song Bones is great so i can't wait what Burton will do with it.

You people who do not like killers obviously have no taste in music. Killers have original lyrics great guitar solos, powerfull drummer and variety with the synthesizes. Anyway I want to know why they do not play This River Is Wild at concerts as it is one of the best songs.
