America Covers Nada Surf
It's been 20 years since you America fans were able to get your hands on some major-label studio goodness -- if your hands weren't clasping a baby rattle, natch -- but that'll all change this January when the band releases Here & Now. For the effort, Gerry and Dewey called in some impressive guests, like the ubiquitous-Iha and Adam Schlesinger (both producing), and Ryan Adams and Ben Kweller (both on "Ride On").
And, oh, the covers! Jimmy James and Patrick Hallahan join in on a cover of MMJ's "Golden" (a song they should know well), and Matthew Caws and Ira Elliot help out on "Always Love." Head here for a thirty second clip of America's Nada cover -- and we'll letcha hear "Golden" as soon as we get it.
Here & Now is out 1/9/07 on Burgundy Records.

Wow they really weren't scared about going overboard emulating the slick 70s production were they? Kind of looking forward to this, some interesting choices it seems.
