Six Minutes Of The Pick Of Destiny

We know there's been a lot of Jack Black-lash of late, and we also know this "preview" has been floating around for weeks, but we're curious if any of you are gonna go see the Tenacious D flick. If you're on the fence about it, go here for the first six minutes, featuring a singing Meatloaf, a Dio cameo, and 'cause it's 2006 (and even though he's their arch-rival), a high-fiving Borat reference -- all set to The D's "Kickapoo."

If we were storyboard experts (we are), we'd say that footage probably leads to the much-funnier scene from this trailer. Between the two, are you more or less likely to spend the twelve bucks on admission? What if we threw in this week's Conan appearance?

I'm not really sure what the Borat reference is here, but I caught the movie at CMJ and it's pretty funny. Much better than i expected. Lots of good cameos, the plot isn't completely dumb and though some of it is rehashed from the TV show, i'd say it's worth seeing.

Jack Black sucked at the VMAs...but you know what, he's never let me down with anything Tenacious D related. I'm def going to see this.

I don't think "high five!" is a borat reference

I'd rather have my testicles slit open and be forced to jump rope with the tubular insides than sit through more than 10 seconds of anything having to do with Jack "the hipster Chris Farley" Black.

Well, how fucking clever of you to put it that way, growler.

JB always makes me laugh, especially his Ren Fair-ish type Tenacious D stuff, so I'll see it.

Said it before, will say it again. A steady fall downwards from the immense pinnacle of "Jeepers Creepers, Semi-star."

I saw a sneak preview of it a few months back. It's pretty damn funny/awesome, but the album was better.

David Cross deserves more backlash than Jack Black. I haven't seen it yet, but Pick of Destiny will undoubtedly be better than Run Ronnie Run. And i still want my money back for the Laugh Across America dvd.

man, i just saw "run ronnie run." that was easily the most dissapointing event of my life thus far. as an aside, david cross has really gone downhill since mr show. well, pretty much all comedy is downhill from mr show, now that i think about it.

Run Ronnie Run was a disappointment? "Erotic Tangerines?" That shit was hilarious.

I love JB, and David Cross and I would gladly invite growler to watch 11 seconds of the Tenacious D movie.

Oh, by the way, I was almost on the floor laughing with they blew up Conan's head. That was great.

David Cross the comedic actor is great and almost always funny.

David Cross the stand up, and I assume the person, is grating and way overrated.

I agree with carson, I love David Cross but his stand up is crap. As Tobias Funke though, the man can do no wrong

I finally saw Run Ronnie Run on fuckin' ABC Late Night Movie at 2 AM a few weeks ago. A part of me died inside. I believe Bob and David, though, when they say they weren't the ones to fuck it up.

you guys must be really fucking stupid. david cross is one of the best stand up acts around right now. he's actually smart and knows what he's talking about. dude made fun of scott stapp on celebrity poker and has a hilarious beef with larry the cable guy.

The conan clip was hilarious!!! I loved conan's expression before he exploded.

But anyway i'll probably see it, not because i want to. But because of the fact that i work in a movoe theatre and i get free tickets. Holla!

David Cross is Larry the Cable Guy, only for people with bachelour's degrees. Nerdy Gimmick as opposed to white-trash gimmick.

what's interesting is that ever since Stereogum has gone corporate, we're being asked more and more what "our opinion is" or if we're "thinking of buying this album," or "that album." Welcome to market test land!
