Nick Drake - "To The Garden"
Posthumously adored legend Nick Drake will be everywhere this year, with lots of music for the ears of fans and completists. In addition to a box set, the Drake estate promises the soon-to-be-released Family Tree, a collection of never-before-heard material from Nick's pre-Island days (and others that previously were available only on low-quality, rare bootlegs). Not sure if this one is gonna make the album, but here's the premiere of a newly mastered, lo-fi take of "To The Garden," originally available on Tanworth-In-Arden 1967/68, an unmastered tape circulating among hardcore fans.

A Skin Too Few, the only authorized Nick Drake biography (shown once in the US, about five years ago) will screen at 11AM at the Convention Center Theater, followed by Nick Drake Remembered (12 - 1:15PM), a panel featuring Gabrielle Drake (Nick's sister and British actress, first US interview about Nick), Joy Boyd (signed and produced Drake), Robyn Hitchcock, and others. And after the panel, you can swing down to the Habana Annex on 6th St. for A Place To Be, the first curated exhibit of Nick's official photographs, mostly taken by British photog Keith Morris. The exhibit will feature performances in homage to Nick throughout the day. No word on breakfast burritos.
