A Second Life For Pocket Symphony?

Those of you who reside in the real world have been enjoying Air's latest for over a week now, but, for those of you who prefer the company of avatars, Nicolas and Jean-Benoit have been kind enough to set up a “virtual” Pocket Symphony inside the Second Life metaverse. (Ben Folds did this last fall.) We tried to get in and check it out, but got distracted by all the teleporting, sex with strangers, and political vandalism. And then our laptop crashed. Any Second Lifers out there who can do some recon for us? Is there anything on the virtual site that we can’t find on pocket-symphony.com? Can we get a Simlish remix of "Sexy Boy"? Oh right, that's a different world.

My thoughts on "Pocket Symphony" when I listened to it second time: why the fuck am I listening to a Linkin Park record? Air should've named it "Pocket Monster" instead because it just sounds very very bad, not to mention very, very bland.

I actually thought there where maybe 4 decent songs which surprised me as I usually hate shit like this. Linkin Park though? You're joking right?

wait... linkin park?

really?

i haven't checked it out yet, but is it anything like the caveman's crib? cause that's kinda fun, albeit slightly pointless.

Everyone is really under-valuing this album. It's a good disc.

Went on second life a few days ago for the first time and it was just so slow loading everything. Couldn't work out how to find anything either, all that seemed to come up on that search thing were the most popular places (ie, sex clubs)...

Yeah, I was actually excited to get home and try out second life when I read about it in blender a while back. EVERYTIME I get on there it is sooooo slow and not fun at all. Something has to be done. Myspace is getting just as bad it seems.

Because the record's as shitty as Linkin Party and Bloc Park.

Hasn't ever crashed on me; though I haven't dallied around in it much, it's been more than once. Really, it crashed on you so easily? Wellll, admittedly I'm running it on Linux, maybe it isn't as smooth on operating systems you have to pay for ;)

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

The Bergen trio Ungdomskulen play proggy post punk, mixing chops and hooks with a sense of humor. But they don't sound like Primus. When I was in Norway a couple years ago, "Ungdomskulen" seemed to be on everybody's lips (or...

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt

It's been some time since we learned Modern Guilt, Beck Hansen's eighth album, would be some sort of psych rock minimalist '60s trip with Danger Mouse. Since then, we've gotten a look at the old-school jazz/Blue Note-style cover art and...
