A Deodorant Spot That's Sure To Knock 'Em Out

Lily Allen shilling for Sure? Not quite. The cheeky folks at ad agency Lowe Worldwide are using "Knock 'Em Out"'s infectious Professor Longhair sample for a sporty new Rexona/Sure/Degree spot. Not that Lily has anything against antiperspirant (one hopes), but seems an underhanded way to trade on her popularity, innit? Of course none of this is illegal -- Lowe licensed Longhair's version of Earl King Johnson's "Big Chief" from publisher Shirley's Music (we did research!) -- but bet your trainers Lil'll be bitching about it on MySpace.

Did you ever consider that PL's song just fit the creative best? I highly doubt they put that song in as an underhanded way to "cruise" on the popularity of Lily.

Tom Waits might disagree with you anon. It's happened to him more than once.

re: #3

not really a jens ripoff, seeing as that the song "heat wave" has been around since the mid 60's. martha and the vandellas, yo.

Reminds of Michel Gondry's Kylie Minogue video more than Lily Allen.

If LA wants artistic control of her music, maybe she should write it.

the way it ends, it could really work as a birth control commercial.

In terms of production, it's a well-put together commercial. The busy apt. sceme at the beginning's pulled together nicely.
