Fancy Footwear For The Well-Heeled Indie Rocker

When Johnny joined forces with Modest Mouse, he upped the band's "dapper" quotient 100%. Next up for the guitarist? Trans-Atlantic sneaker designer. Johnny religiously dons his PF Flyers before hitting the stage each night, and now he's designed a shoe with dark blue leather and black accents for the aspiring Marr in you.

But this won't be a trend; there will be only 108 pairs for sale in the US, and another 108 for UK consumption -- the proceeds from which will benefit charity. Starting July 10th, 'em for $80 via the Cure Autism Now site, while our friends across the pond can spend £40 and purchase here (proceeds to benefit The Pictor School, in support of special needs children). More info here. Have a look see...

Clearly superior to those Dino Jr Nikes...

But the New Balance commissioned Unknown Pleasures Joy Division kicks are some fine ass post-punk apparel.

Collect 'em all! Except those Dino Jr abominations. You obviously aren't buying any of 'em. But which would you choose? Maybe this huge pic of Marr modeling his PF Flyers will sway you.

I have such a crush on Johnny Marr, and I love shoes. The combination can only spell disaster.

...but disasters are fun right?

I completely disagree with your take on the Dino Jr Nikes. Those kicks are badass. Here's a picture I took of Moore rocking the Dino Jrs. http://flickr.com/photos/jnforte/392680854/in/set-72157594540133123/

Indian Jewelry - "Walking On The Water"

We dug Invasive Exotics, Houston crew Indian Jewelry's 2006 long player, but the feedback feels warmer, the structures more assured, expansive, unhinged and less Doors-y/VU-derived on Free Gold!. In fact, even if you didn't like their older work, you might...
