New Buffalo Tom - "Three Easy Pieces"
Angela Chase would be ecstatic with all the '90s alt-rock reunions upon us. Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against The Machine, and now ... Buffalo Tom. (C'mon, you totally remember that episode.)
This summer, Bill Janovitz, Chris Colbourn, and Tom Maginnis are releasing their first album of new material in nine years, and we've got the title track to share. Fans of the Boston trio won't be disappointed by its familiar fuzzy fretwork and singalong chorus. Get psyched, Jon Stewart.

Christy with Crash-Avenue Publicity here and oh man did that episode change my life! I searched everywhere for that Buffalo Tom album and listened to that song on repeat about 30 times. I haven't even thought about them since that CD got stolen 5 years ago. Glad to hear they are still in the scene. Peace.

Best Band in the world - can't wait! For those who disagree, get acquainted with their album "Let me come over" - wonderful stuff

Angela wasn't really a Buffalo Tom fan. She went because Jordan Catalano was there. And if you follow that precedent then she'd also be a 30 Seconds To Mars fan... Yikes.
Sharon Cherski totally loved them though!

One of the best drummers ever.

Ha. She was a Violent Femmes fan, though!

Easily one of my top five favorite bands of all time (up there with The Beatles, Steely Dan, etc.); I am SO psyched about this new record, and am so grateful to Bill, Tom and Chris for giving us another record after their long hiatus. Three Easy Pieces will be a 2007 summer highlight for sure. - Randy

now we just need a new album from Bill's brother Paul and his band Cold Water Flat.

Hey, that's Chris Colbourn singing lead instead of Bill! Is that a first for a BT single?

i really loved "let me come over" - a collection of singles if there ever was one.
well, except none of them were singles...

Buff A. Low, it's not a first. In fact, the first single ("Rachael) from their last record ("Smitten") also featured Chris on lead vocals.

Check out their podcasts on iTunes too. Great stuff!

All Buffalo Tom albums have Chris Colbourn songs on them, only their debut ('88) did not. "Let Me Come Over" IS most likely their very best album (even Colbourn's mom thought so, I asked her). And actually, "Taillights Fade" was the single from it. Although portions of this new record are WAY too commercial sounding, it surpasses the overly arty "Smitten" and ranks pretty high up in their catalog. If you are lucky enough to live in California you must go to their show. I already bought tickets...
