Blood on the Wall - "I'd Like To Take You Out Tonight"

Time Out New York has proclaimed Blood On The Wall "local bands' favorite local band." That totally makes sense, since they sound so much like The Pixies. After all, who doesn't like The Pixies? Blood On The Wall, like The Fiery Furnaces before them, are a brother and sister team, with each sibling sharing songwriting duties. Matthew from Fluxblog posted brother Brad Shanks' "Mary Susan" a few days back; here's sister Courtney singing "I'd Like to Take You Out Tonight"

the brother and sister in Blood on the Wall are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, but they are also by far the ugliest band ever!

if the 14 year olds have their way, Blood on the Wall will never make it on TRL...

"I'd Like to Take You Out Tonight" is a haunting song that really stuck with me.

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...
