Just to let you know, my friend was there, and he said that Big Black played for only 15 minutes and it was pure shit ... they didn't even look like they were really interested in playing at all. So you really didn't miss much really ...

Now .. Man ... or Astro-man? on the other hand ... I'm sure that was one of the best shows of the night.

Big Black setlist:

Cables
Dead Billy
Pigeon Kill
Racer-X

There were some sound problems early on, which didn't get fixed until they were half done.

MoAM was in fact a highlight of the weekend. It'd be nice to see them active again, but Birdstuff dismantled and distributed his drum kit at the end...

Jeez, it looks like Scratch Acid killed! Wish I coulda been there...

On that note, what happened to awesome bands like Big Black and Scratch Acid? Every fucking half-assed band right now just rips off the same two indie-pop records from less than two years ago.

Big Black didn't really get a chance to rehearse for the show. They decided to do a few songs because they love Touch and Go. To those who would complain about one thing or another... it's fucking Big Black, it doesn't matter if they played well or poorly, they played, and that's history right there. Ditto for Scratch Acid, though I must say, they tore it up! Man.. Or Astroman? was amazing, and Shellac played one of the best sets I've seen, just to name a few highlights.

Where are the Seam pics? and I wonder how they were. It was their first gig in 3 or 4 years.

Or maybe I'm the only one that still cares about Seam.

The Big Black set was the higlight of the night for me. It finally gave all the people who bought earplugs a chance to put its quality to the test. Just because they weren't "into it" (which I have to disagree with) doesn't mean they didn't play amazingly. Shellac was also fantastic, as was Scratch Acid and The Ex.

Holy crap, Big Black! I saw them in the late 80's and it was one of the best shows I've ever experienced... Does anyone know if this was a one-off or are they going to tour?

No love for the Didjits! Holy shit, they were the highlight for me!

How can you tell Big Black were having 'sound problems'. Were the harps a bit low in the mix?

I just got to work after taking a rest day in Chicago before coming home (to Philadelphia). Every performance was great. Even for the bands that couldn't keep up (read: singers) with their old songs, there was something special about their performances (read: Pegboy, monorchid). I brought a friend (fella I stayed with)who had no knowledge of any of these bands / label and he had a total blast.

my highlights: ted leo _never_ disappoints, MOAM were fantastic (as good as I've ever seen them), Scratch Acid was a force of nature, Seam sounded fantastic, Tara Jane O'Neal had everyone in silence (played two new beautiful songs from new album), The New Year were terrific, GVSB!!!!!!!!!, Shellac were fantastic and I think about 4,000 people saw Big Black - and I can't remember a thing...except fireworks.

I was in from Cleveland for the weekend. I was so excited to see Big Black that I probably didnt even realize there were sound problems. No they are not touring or ever playing again(and unlike so many others, this I beleive to be true). Very powerful in my opinion.
Scratch Acid blew me away. Ive seen JL many a times, and this was on par. Yow is the ultimate front man. They stole the weekend.
Also high on my list: GVSB, Arcwelder, The New Year,Man or Astroman, Quasi, CocoRosie, Seam, Shellac. I had to leave before Calexico, but heard they were great too.
