Broken Social Scene's Rejected "Puff The Magic Dragon"

Earlier this week, we wrote about Paper Bag Records' cool indie rock kids' comp See You On The Moon and gave you an MP3 of Broken Social Scene's trippy "Puff The Magic Dragon," which you deemed weird. Well, it actually gets weirder.

We've since learned the cover BSS originally submitted was rejected. Presumably 'cause it gets too freaky at the end. The album track is essentially the first five minutes of this wackier extended version:

Broken Social Scene - "Puff The Magic Dragon (Rejected Version)" (MP3 Link Expired)

A Stereogum exclusive. Enjoy.

I wish we could've used this version, we weren't given permission from the publishers to use this version, sorry folks. Kevin and I we're bummed but what can you do?!

Glad everyone enjoyed it!

PBR.

I saw Broken Social last week in Nottingham and they were fantastic. They played for over two hours, but didn't do the Puff song. I feel cheated now!!

Gives me closure and I no longer hate Jackie for blowing off Puff
