New Bark Bark Bark - "Haunts"

Two things get bloggers' attention like no other: 1) youth; and 2) an act comprising either seven (or more!) members, a married couple, or just one person masquerading under a band's moniker. So, there have been smattering of blog posts on Arizona's Bark Bark Bark, but given that we're talking about one kid (Jacob Cooper) who's hella young (he be 20), safe to expect more internet love soon (fondness for synths and repetitious name are bonuses). And we fell prey to Cooper's trap; Bark³ brings it like Panthers on standout cut "Haunts," a dirty, dark electro-pop vibe, with digi beats and distorto-vox that moan along to fit its name. Night time dance fare, the sorta stuff Evan and Marilyn probably have blood thunderstorm sex to.

Ugggghh, this guy is a joke. Dude profits from all of the buzz with none of the talent. He inexplicably lands great opening slots for bands here in Phoenix but I couldn't name a single person here who actually likes him or his music. He IS well-known for being a real dick...

Come on Scott, don't waste your time on this piece of shit band. Anyone from AZ knows what a real douchebag Jacob Cooper really is.

Wow! I saw this guy like two years ago and he was horrible. He acted like a douche, so I wouldn't be surprised to hear he is one. People from Arizona! wouldn't you agree that Peachcake is better?

It's ironic Bark hasn't played a REAL set with a backing band in AZ in almost a year, yet plays out of town regularly to avid fans everywhere. It's really a shame everyone else is seeing the better sets instead of Arizona. It's also a real shame that half of you hate your lives because of one douche bag.

Wow, holy shit, guys. How about you fucking relax and give this guy props for making good music instead of whining about some ridiculous shit that hardly matters in the long run.

People are going to act however they want, and sorry to say it, but not everyone is going to automatically like you because you watched their set. Cry me a fucking river.

i bet a lot of musicians i like are douchebags, say, bob dylan? lou reed? the most notorious assholes of the 20th century. i say first and foremost, listen to the album, and THEN criticize the artist.

Why is the only word being used to describe him "douche"? I think you could also call him an asshole, or a cunt, be a little more creative.
How he is on a personal level isn't very important, its about the music which I, for one, am pretty fond of.
Yeah he can get a little out of hand at shows but at least he isn't a fucking zombie when he's up there playing.

This is a hilarious exchange. Thanks to Frances for providing some actual logic and perspective. Bark3 has played in Tucson- I saw em at Vaudeville pretty recently. If you think Jacob acts like a brat remember, he's a performer and as the blog states, he's just 20. Which is really beside the point when, as Grace said, being an arse (especially onstage) often goes with the territory of being a performer.

And it's hard to take comments like "he's a no talent douchebag" seriously when they say nothing about the music and if the speaker actually heard the album, he wouldn't say "no talent". Sounds more like petty jealousy which only makes the speaker look like "a douchebag".

So yes, please "get over it". You won't stop somebody from being a douchebag by talking like one, anyway.

BBB played the opening show at my venue and were fucking awesome. Not once did any of them give me shit, and especially not Jacob. Anyone that actually knows him, and who isn't a douchebag, knows that Jacob is rad. So fuck the assholes who don't actually know what they're talking about.

BBB FOR LIFE MOTHERFUCKERS!

lou and bob the biggest assholes on the 20th century? really? really? of the entire 20th century there the biggest assholes? you can't think of any one else who might fall in there above them ? and then to put bark3 in the mix? does that make sense much at all really. sure jacobs a bit of an ass and the worst drunk ive ever seen, but to put him in the same sentence with those boys really uncool.
fact is theres maybe 5 great bands from tucson and bark3 really just wont ever leave a mark. theres about 30 kids from every state whos got a mild amount of angst and a sequencer to make themselves feel better.mediocere at best. ill give him this tho, one of the greatest selfpromoters ive ever met, how he gets into the places he does amazes me truly.

I have played with him on numerous occasions he would open for a band I was in numerous times, and let me say I do think he is a terrible musician and performer, and yes his personality is the same too. I know everyone has their own opinion and thats cool you are all entitled to it, but from my own personal experience, yeah screw bark bark bark
