Queens Of The Stone Age Cover Tom Waits

Josh and the gang are making a deluxe package out of their release of "Sick, Sick, Sick," the first single from the single-loaded Era Vulgaris (how good are "Make It Wit Chu," "3's & 7's," and "Into The Hollow"?). And it's considerably less vain than LCD's party for "All My Friends"; rather than get a bunch of people to pay Homme-age to QOTSA, the band will load the digipack with tips o' the cap to others, including takes on Elliott Smith's "Christian Brothers" and Tom Waits-tune "Goin' Out West," the latter of which will kick in as soon as you click here. (That's also the European online store, so count your euros and buy, buy, buy.) There was little QOTSA could do to make the Bone Machine cut any more eerie, sludgy, or growly, so it's less of an update, more a bow of worship to master Waits. (via P4K)

I hope this isn't considered spam, but it is on topic - for a really really killer version of Goin' Out West check out Gov't Mules take -

I generally shudder at the thought of anyone covering Tom Waits, but that was pretty damn great.

i dislike it. but not because i dislike QOTSA at all. i even like the IDEA of them doing it because, yes, it's a sludgy song and they're great at that, but....meh.
i just despise anyone covering tom waits.
