Touch And Go 25th Anniversary Photos: Day One

After all the build-up and excitement over Touch And Go's 25th Anniversary, turns out we couldn't make it out to the Hideout Block Party after all. BUT we've done the next best thing by enlisting photog Wes Frazer and his fancy camera to document the weekend in .jpgs. Here are pics from last night's party. More TK!

man, i'm really bummed i couldn't make it to see man... or astro-man? i used to catch their live shows all the time in athens and atlanta, and it never dissapointed. it's a shame we haven't heard too much from those guys in the past few years. hopefully this will be a sign of more to come.

Ryan, did you not come out for the reunion show here in Birmingham on Wednesday? It was amazing. Tiger Tiger opened and Brian Teasley ended the show daring the tesla coil, by grappling the speakers at the top of the stage and screaming out over the audience. I'm not sure aout a reunion for good. Now that Brian is running the Bottletree, the club where the runion was held, his hands have become pretty full.

Scratch Acid tore it up, absolutely glowing with vicious energy. Big Black went off as well and played only old shit (four songs total). Shellac was also on point, ended by inviting two girls onstage to beat on cymbals with them.

This fest is well put together.

I'm so bummed about missing the original lineup of Man ... or Astro-man? I'm sure that it was beyong fucking amazing ... they always used to put on the best live shows.

I heard people were flying in from all over the world to make it to the reunion show in Birmingham.

I'm soo damn jealous!!!!!

ted leo is a very boring signing especially for a label like touch and go who i would expect to be signing more original / cuttings acts. ted leo is a snoozer who has put out the same record 3 times. t&g need negative approah back!

ps. still love the label and ted leo isn't that bad, just kinda average.
