New Born Ruffians - "Hummingbird" & "Kurt Vonnegut"

Spastic Toronto pop trio Born Ruffians have posted two new sing-a-longs from their forthcoming "Hummingbird" 7" at MySpace. It's usually pretty easy to figure out how to stream tunes o'er there, but just in case, the boys offered a "to do" list that includes:

1. Go on myspace
2. Listen to the hot new born ruffians songs
3. Feel your pants get tighter
4. See 2 and 3
5. Demand to know how to get your sticky hands on these sweet, sweet tracks.
We didn't have quite as a rousing reaction, but the songs are sweet enough fun. Guessing we at least topically know what "Kurt Vonnegut"'s about (you know, that writer dude indie rockers like to mention post-J.D. Salinger), but we're still trying to decipher guitarist 'n' vocalist Luke LaLonde's lyrics in bouncy, excited, Modest Mouse-y "Hummingbird." Keeping with the sticky sweet thing, maybe something to do with nectar? Or Mansinthe?

The "Hummingbird" 7" is out in October on WARP-- or you can nab a copy if you catch the Ruffians on tour with fellow Canadians, Caribou. Dates after the jump.
