A Tale Of Six Dylans: The I'm Not There Trailer

We saw a clip of Cate Blanchett's Bob meeing David Cross's Allen Ginsberg, and we pored over the 34-song soundtracklist, and so to complement our pre-release swooning over the multi-Bob biopic I'm Not There, here's the first iteration of the flick's trailer. It's the first shot at seeing all six Dylans (to recap: Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Marcus Carl Franklin, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, and Ben Whishaw) work their artfully mussed hair in moving images. There's sure to be another version closer to widespread release (right now I'm Not There's slated for a September premiere in Italy), but this one seems to favor Blanchett. Maybe to play up the shock value of having the Oscar-winning beauty as Bob? (Although little Marcus is pretty stunt-y too.) Or maybe it's cause her version of Dylan is high as a kite.

The reactions on here are probably going to be very similar to the reactions of the general public: love it or hate it with very little in between.

Everyone seems pretty eager to quickly dismiss this.
Todd Haynes ain't no foo'. ("Poison"/"Dottie Gets Spanked"/"Velvet Goldmine" anyone?)

If this isn't an epic, I'm sure it will at least be uncompromising and interesting.
