Amy Winehouse Builds Her Beehive, Spits At Fans

You can always count on the sureshots at TMZ to grab the footage that makes the world go 'round. Today's installment captures Wino at at a British train station, teasing and pulling those lovely locks 'til they're perfectly set in a ratty, Motown nest. Compelling viewing, but it's got nothing on watching Amy prep her gap. Or listening to David Gest fantasize about it.

This was before her latest, spit-tacular onstage meltdown, though...

Via This Is London:

Concern is growing for Amy Winehouse following a shambolic performance during which fans walked out of her concert after she appeared to spit at them.

The singer performed at the Eden Project on Tuesday night, following two weeks of cancelled gigs, but fans who saw her performance have joined the growing chorus of people begging the singer to get help.

Reports say Amy appeared to be in tears while onstage, hitting herself on the head with a microphone in frustration when she forgot the words to her songs, and a fan said she finished by spitting into the crowd.

The shambling performance ended when she stormed offstage during her last song – a cover of Valerie by The Zutons.

Melinda Trevaskis, 26, from St Austell, said: "The gig became absolutely awful. Members of her entourage were coming on to the stage, obviously worried she couldn't go on, and she would just shout "f*** off" at them. Everyone in the crowd just felt sorry for her."

Camp Amy's explanation:
"She is a bit ring rusty after not having played for a while and was upset after making a few mistakes in the set."
Which explains punching herself (sorta), but what's up with the spitting? Maybe she's just mad that her beehive didn't look okay? Who doesn't hock a loog on an innocent bystander from time to time on a bad hair day, ya know?

Why do people want to become these "great" stars if they're only going to treat their fans horribly? Can I assume a fat paycheck is all they're in it for?

I'm tired of these stupid little twats - Lily, Sovereign, Winehouse - who are such immature idiots that they can't even stay sober long enough to perform for their paying fans for an hour. It's unprofessional and they deserve every ounce of negativity they receive for it. Even some of the most hard-partying rock musicians manage to put on good shows. These lightweights need to shape up or ship out.

All of this Amy Winehouse, Lady Sovereign hating reeks of sexism. I guess everyone has forgot about the 90s when it was cool and widely accepted for lead singers of punk bands to spit at fans, throw shit at fans, etc. In fact, the trend dates much farther back. Granted, a lot of artists are super fucked up and I am sure Miss Winehouse is one of them but since when is it all right for the men of rock to do one thing and the women who do it are called crazy and that they hate their fans? Oh yeah, that's right, it's the continuing double-standard against female artists based off the same treatment and "criticism" against women in society proper. Rock stars do stupid shit, always have, always will, but to take it out so vehemently against these newer, younger female artists when back in the day if Cobain would have spit on you you probably wouldn't have showered for a month (because you usually didn't shower for a week anyway) is just sexist and backwards and, quite honestly, getting to be less of a fascinating news story and more of a über-trendy gossip thread among the quasi-literi of indiedom.

Sexism? Because people who payed to see a performance (and we are talking about Amy Winehouse, not a god damn punk act) don't want to be spit on...this is your basis on a rant for sexism?

You need to explain yo'self or check yo'self.

hmmmmm, if I went to see... DOA, Sex Pistols, G.G. Allin, I fully expect spit on me. If I went to see Lady Sovereign or Amy Whinehouse I do not expect spit.

I think what she did was stupid, I think everything she is doing is dumb, HOWEVER, Amy, you can spit on me if you wish.

maybe hearing about this will make lily allen completely straighten up her onstage act so no one says she's pulling a Wino.
Or maybe she'll want people to not say that Wino's pulling a Lily....
