New Animal Collective Video - "Peacebone"

A love story between a bizarre-looking being with bad teeth and an alien? Why not! Animal Collective mines cohesive beauty out of structure-averse bleeps, snarls, and screams, so making an intergalactic liaison between two fang-led specimens seem cutesy is rather perfect. Initially hiding behind a mask that's part Burger King/part McKinely High Fighting Norseman, out comes our hero, taking his gal pal out for a day of park frolicking; carnival walking; and freaky, extra-terrestrial make-out sessions. It's like Earth Girls Are Easy meets Thelma And Louise. Isn't it romantic?

So, this morning I saw this video was posted and I was totally excited, so I said to myself "Hey, I should wait and watch that this afternoon when I take my lunch break." So I was sitting here with a plate of microwavable beef stew just now trying not to throw up the entire time. Big mistake.

Who eats beef stew for lunch?

Also,
Great video.
Nothing too ground-breaking but still unique and captivating which, for some reason, seems harder and harder for music videos to do these days.

I actually love this quite a bit. It's rather beautiful in its own bee-girl-finds-true-love kind of way.

It's kind of sweet, actually. You guys are a bunch of lightweights. Go watch some Lynch, Greenaway, and Jodorowsky and get back to me.

The song has really grown on me. I loved "Feels" and am sure I will like "Strawberry Jam" as well. Yeah, if you think this is weird just go get yourself some Fantomas.

The music video is so bizarre, but I loved it. Great cinematography.

Oh, and "Peacebone" is a brilliant song of course.

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...
