New The Blow Video - "Parentheses"

The Blow's Paper Television has been getting so much love around Stereogum HQ that we really didn't think it could be anymore -- and then we saw this video and, like, all we wanna do is get beers and sing karaoke with the duo. So, Jona, Khaela ... possible? If not, we'll just watch this and pretend we're friends. And there should totally be more drinking in cartoons.

Cool video. Worst song I've ever heard...

You idiots really think this song is good?

Whatever your opinions are, that is the single greatest ending to a music video I've seen this year. Has NME started a list on that subject yet?

I don't quite get the love for this band. I saw them live opening for Andrew Bird, and the whole performance reeked of disingenuity. It probably had to do with the setlist, and how it featured a ton of "manhating" tracks that really took it overboard, and their other songs are probably a lot better, but still, my despise for this band will remain constant.

Kinda like how I absolutely hate Tilly and the Wall because of their annoyingass tweenage girl girls.

Er, I mean tweenage girl FANS.

shit, at least those tweeange girls are listening to tilly and the wall instead of, like, my chemical romance or beyonce or some really annoying crap like that.

and i like the blow. even if the lyrics are kind of weak, the actual music of the band is way fun. heavy bass makes it rock my face. and most the time it seems more man-crazy than man-hating. just listen to "Hey Boy".

Regardless of what music they're listening to, they were annoying as hell. Girls all around me were straight out of Disney Channel Original Movies; one of them in front of us actually apparently got a call on her cell phone from a guy she liked or something, and she proceeded to freak out, tell all her friends about it, play it cool on the phone, hang up, and then freak out again, doing that whole jumping-up-and-down shit that I thought was only reserved for characters on Nick at Nite.

And yeah, I'm sure The Blow's other songs are better and more listenable, but on that day it was just a horriblly imbalanced choice of songs.

the blow are growing on me... this is the most sincere, most lyrically unpretentious love song i've heard since the moldy peaches' nothing came out. it can be jangled and raw and still be catchy and poppy. it's endearing. like when the capricorns sing about the new sound. it doesn't have to be slick to effin' rock.

This song's not very good and I normally like the blow, so it's not hating from this guy. The beat's interesting though.

I keep hearing all this hype about how amaaaazing the Blow is. I don't think this song is *all that* but I do indeed think the lyrics are super cute. But hey, at least it's better than "Wind It Up"....haha deli aisle.

I <3 the blow. Khaela sucks hardcore live though, what a let down that was. All of their lyrics are supercute ajaku.

Hi, I love the Blow. This song is great, not the best on the CD, but still great. Kind of wish they did True Affection or maybe Babay (Eat A Critter, Feel The Wrath)... but, love the video.

I'm wondering what you're all into, if you find this song/album weak. Khaela's lyrics (all about sex!) and delivery are fantastic. Also with Jona on board, the production finally delivers the consistency that The Blow lacked on past albums.

I was hooked on the first listen.
