Tay Zonday, Do You Do Covers? Of Breakup Letters?

Today's B3ta Newsletter mentioned "Chocolate Rain" by way of flogging a parody version. Fearing that we'd missed something so awesome it had already spawned parodies, we went straight to YouTube for the search:

Best comment: snapric (11 minutes ago) what's the name of this song?

From Tay Zonday's YouTube page:

Yes, I have a deep voice. No, I don't fake it. Yes, I look young. I am 25 years old. I have never studied piano or voice formally. Several of my videos have free MP3s and/or sheet music that you can download in the video details!
He's taken a stab at going viral before, but this might be a winner. Tay, if you really want to blow up, you might want to cover youmakemetouchyourhandsforstupidreasons (via).

Update: When we posted this, the version of the parody linked to was down, but it looks like it's back.

good speed on the uptake. I think this bad boy hit 4chan.org on Wednesday. It's so damn godawful. I wonder which is worse, the midi piano or the terrible voice...or maybe the lyrics. good god.

rickroll, we need you back!

This is song is still better than anything LIARS or The Rapture have ever done.

By the way, I bet we get a MSTRKRFT remix in two weeks.

I woke up in the middle of the night with Chocolate Rain in my head. I now know what it must feel like to be mentally ill.

This next one of his has to be seen to be believed. It is amazing...
