Eddie Van Halen, of course. Brian May. Carlos Santana has a very distinctive sound, though he's not one of my favs as guitar player... The Edge. And Steve Lukather, of Toto. When I was a kid in the early 1980's I bought The Tubes' album "The Completion Backward Principle" just for his guitar on just a few songs, most notable "Talk To You Later" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-rEVVAw3-0)
I've seen a couple of those in the local shop. I think to the record company, these count as "sold"... whether anybody actually buys one, or not.
I've been a fan of TEED ever since I first heard of him (with a remix of Chrystal Fighters "Xtatic Truth") and I found this video very interesting, to finally see the master. His signature sound, to me, is his silly basslines and bouncy rhythms. And I don't consider "Garden" his finest. I recommend to try his (nearly) instrumental "That One", and his remixes of Professor Green "Monster" and Wafa "Ewid Disco" instead.
There are too many songs by the same people. In other words: there are far more artists that made fabulous stuff. Try T.Raumschmiere with "Monster Truck Driver", for example. And Friendly Fires with "Paris"? Only if you're talking about the Aeroplane remix. There's one song I wholeheartedly agree on: Blur with "Song 2".
This is not about albums, this is about individual tracks.
This is terrible news.
