Will it be all good if we preorder from the British site?
Yeah, but I eyeballed it. On another note, they have the worst service in the world there. Apparently, you have to be Matt Berninger to get your beer within 15 minutes of ordering it.
I’m pretty sure that bar is Flatbush Farm, which is exactly where a dude like him would be hanging out.
Best Law & Order Ice-T line of all time, something to the effect of: “They’re on the down-low. They have sex with men but don’t think they’re gay….Don’t look at me, I just know about it.” I assume the same applies for the hot bowl of dicks. He just knows about it.
Great show, though I saw Spoon a couple years ago in London in a much smaller room (think like 500 vs. 5000) and the energy was better.
This song sounds like a (bad) outtake from Sounds of Silver.
Now this tune I like.
I agree that he’s a great drummer, but the beats in Terrible Love sound exactly like stuff on Boxer in a sort of disappointing way.
Right on.
I’m a huge fan and I think Paul is right on. Sad Songs and Alligator have better vocal melodies than Boxer and certain better than this. Berninger tends to lapse into monotonous mumbling when he has range. Also, I’m a little tired of the totally abstract and opaque lyrics. Walking with spiders? It takes an ocean not to break?
The National now have a sound and a mood. Spoon does, too, but they seem to push things forward with each new record. As I posted above, there is a fine line between consistency and repetitiveness.
Anyone else feel me that the drum fills on this are identical to Boxer? There is a fine line between consistency and repetitiveness.

Is that Will Forte?
