I’d like to add something from my message above….. I actually just listened to a couple of Mickey Avalon’s songs…. and I actually think he is a very talented rapper and great with lyrics, he’s almost like the Adam Sandler of the rap genre, and I can’t figure out why he would get booed off stage because he seems to have great talent for this style of music.

I am a big Eminem fan and he reminds me of Eminem somewhat, espically his funny Superman song…. that’s what “My Dick” reminded me of, and the lyrics made me laugh. I thought a few audience members just booed him, I just learned that it was severe and that he was in fact “booed” off stage, that he left, throwing his microphone. Now that’s harsh. Because, in my opinion, this guy’s good. I applaude you John for writing this email to the audience, but I still don’t think a lot of the points touched on were very accurate.

Maybe you should consult your lawyer? Greenspan?

First I’d like to say these comments are some of the funniest I have ever seen, I love each and every one of you. Now, moving on to John’s email. Firstly, by closing a letter like that stating how he fucked up in the first place (I.e. His angry comments he made on stage that were ‘lead by his emotions’… Comments typically lead by ‘emotions’ are actually usually the most TRUTHFUL…) And one can argue that the BOOS from the crowd were ‘rash’ reactions lead by a large group’s ‘emotions’ towards Mickey’s music… Which first and foremost… Makes John appear like nothing but a big hypocrite even writing this bullshit apology email that seems to be nothing more than an attempt at backpeddling.

I haven’t heard this guy’s music, and I am not even a RHCP fan. I just respect John and revere his solo music…

But after reading this thought out email of his, I did look up this character’s website… And just the look of him made me laugh out loud. And based on everyone’s reaction, I can pretty much guess that his music echoes his appearance.

I think that it was extremely bad taste to continue advertising how big of a ‘friend’ this guy is of the band, using that as the main focal point in defending him… Because clearly if he weren’t a friend, he wouldn’t have gotten the gig based on his musical talents which makes it another arguementative case of ‘nepotism.’

And for John to go into grand detail about how he creats music to ‘spread light and love to all…’ Is a big load of BS because he has clearly shown that he has created solo cd after solo cd without much intent on the selfless giving of live shows for fans of him alone and his solo work.

Music is a give and take artform. But I have noticed that when it comes to having their way and relying on their own comfort first, John falls into that category.

This email of his comes off as very preachy and a little bit too goody-goody, and since most people know where he has came from, the sentiments appear somewhat false, because it is hard to believe that this guy (John), has never done anything unintentionally ‘hurtful’ to another individual as petty as booing at a live show… Which again, falls on hypocrisy.

I also feel that by how defensive John has been personally towards this guy, shows that he may know deep down that Mickey does lack musical prowess, but he likes the guy’s heart and sense of ‘self’ which makes for great value in promoting those aspects at their shows.

Another thing that rubbed me the wrong way, was John’s statement about ‘ when I see a artist who is terrible, my heart bleeds for them’, or something to that extent, I think that was somewhat of a contrite comment that clearly shows his ability to be very opinionated and judgemental where this whole issue has stemmed from, and I feel his statement in this email is even more negative towards artists who have voices (but not talent) then the simple boos at the show.

And furthermore, coming from someone who has clearly lived his dream his whole life… His message is nothing short of loaded with reasons to look upon him as a ‘smug’ success-lavished musician telling audiences to like his friend’s performance because he’s not on the radio…or MTV. That, coming from a ‘smug’, success-lavished musician who IS on the radio and MTV.

I think it would have made more of an impact to write a short and sweet message thanking Oklahoma City’s audience for never having to work 16 hour days at a job he hates and for the rent on a large house in Santa Monica and/or the Hollywood Hills… And all for doing what HE adores.

Not because he wants to spread ‘light’ to the world. What is he… Fucking Mr. Rogers?
