This is EXACTLY why MBDTF will be a forgotten memory in a year from now. All those accolades from the web, critics and the music industry in general – though somewhat deserved – jumped the gun BIG TIME with the legacy of this album and how it, or it WILL, change the game forever. It IS a great album but hip-hop, musically, and the culture has been changing so much since Kanye coincidently stepped into the game that not ONE album can define it. I mean Kanye himself, with his music, is apart of that too. I remember when Graduation came out and all the buzz about it being his best album, the best hip-hop album – commercially speaking – and the most pop a hip-hop album can get (not to mention how big of a deal the Daft Punk sample was and how THAT was a supposed game-changer) but do you hear anything from Graduation on the radio anymore, or here online? Hip-hop is too prolific, too evolving right now for one album or one artist to be responsible for it.

It’s all precaution. Just because the homicide division investigates this 1st doesn’t mean that its a homicide. They review the facts and circumstances involved because he DID die mysteriously and with no pre-existing medical conditions or history on-file, they don’t want to bury him just to find out that he had enemies, he threatened someone or somebody threatened him, or he was involved in an altercation. I don’t how long this has been protocol but it’s fairly recent procedure and this kind of “pre-cautious” investigating mostly occurs in the bigger cities.

Great song. One of the best of ’09 IMHO.

Well, they had to play it at least one octave lower than the original for Kevin’s voice but it sounded good to me.

So when are these guys gonna do a tour w/ Scissor Sisters. I was gonna “arena” but they can only do that in the big cities like NYC, LA, Miami, Chi-town, and of course, London. Maybe Tokyo too.

To reply to myself, the “you’ll be catching us on the fly” quote means they’re flying into LA and playing live, aren’t they? But what their carbon foot….. oh nevermind. it for a good cause and its Radiohead.

 0Posted on Jan 22nd, 2010 | re: Radiohead For Haiti (30 comments)

Only 8 comments so far in 3 and-a-half hours, c’mon you slackers its RADIOHEAD. This thread needs to hit 100 at least by noon cuz after all, hipsters DO sleep in late.

Seriously, you all need to stop with the orgasmic responses, get a brown paper bag to blow in and CALM THE HELL DOWN. They are the type that can do this and much props to them but the cause is bigger than the band, so of course ticket prices are gonna be as much as front row at a U2 show, even w/o that 360 b/s. It’s like an auction, the highest bid wins. In this case, seats to a pre-recorded performance on a jumbotron screen.

With that said, I wouldn’t be surprised if this somehow gets hacked into and leaked before the show or hacked and broadcasted on the web during the show. And I can’t lie, I’m gonna be nowhere near LA on Sunday so I’ll be on the lookout with probably all of you as well cuz we’re all gonna be curious as to how this will turn out.

Well, at least got it together for the outro, but still, not their best moment. Was wondering why this post received so many comments. Did/Will it ever make it to #1?

$1200 leather jacket = one month’s rent

Well, at least I’ll be fashionable……. homeless, but still looking hip in my brand new two-sizes-too-tight Diesel knockoff leather jacket. Praise the LORD!

Fucked that up. What I meant to say was…………

Weird w/ some WTF moments aside, who knew he could act? Though I wonder how many takes it took for him to get those mic TWIRLING TRICKS DOWN. Over/under is 15.

Two thumbs UP.

Btw, I don’t think The Strokes will get the headlining for Lolla. Not big enough here in the States compared to past headliners. Maybe they’ll get the slot BEFORE the headliner. Won’t be surprised if they play under KoL. That’ll be interesting.

I’m with ya dude. Their next album was gonna put ‘em on the f’n MAP but their label screwed ‘em over BIG time, forcing them to re-record “….. Sunken Ships” TWICE even though the band had 100% creative control. Yeah, right. The Fuckers.

You should’ve put (Again) below The Verve. Blur should’ve been up there too with (Again) below. Didn’t Carl Barat’s post-Libs band Dirty Pretty Things break-up earlier this year?…… Yeah, I know……. WHO CARES?!

Sorry, fucked that up:

Yes, you probably are, but so am I:

Where’s The Hold Steady?
Just sayin’.

I don’t think it sounds weird or complex AT ALL. It does remind me of “Electricityscape” from First Impressions of Earth, with a little bit of “Vision of Division” from the same album.

Vid’s down so to see it, here’s two links:

She’s probably OLDER than all of the people you just mentioned. Hell, probably one of the oldest among all the nominees.

My Best 5 in no particular order:

Here, There and Everywhere
Dear Prudence
Dig A Pony
Hello Goodbye
When I’m Sixty-Four (tie w/Tomorrow Never Knows cuz only 5 is IMPOSSIBLE)

Or a couple of weeks from now, or maybe TOMORROW. Curious about how it gonna sound. Let the pre-leak blacklash commence!

0Posted on Sep 4th, 2009 | re: New Wild Beasts Video - "All The King's Men" (6 comments)

That ^^^^^^ was supposed to be a reply for “a’tris”.

0Posted on Sep 4th, 2009 | re: New Wild Beasts Video - "All The King's Men" (6 comments)

If you haven’t heard their 1st album “Limbo, Panto”, look for the video for “The Devil’s Crayon”. Best Song of ’08 IMO. The queue outside Joe’s Pub will probably be massive but I’m there.

PS – Checked your website. Good stuff. Good luck with your band.

Sorry ‘gum, but I didn’t see anything about Toronto, or is that where the “offer to headline a festival (being announced soon)” is taking place.
