You probably can’t tell, but these trees happen to be fake and plastic.
A win for Win!
He’s talented. And he’s gorgeous.
(But he looked prettier in the Blackberry ad, IMHO)
Oh noes. I honestly loved every single thing they ever put out. It really was a lot of fun while it lasted. After seeing their performance on ACL, I’d love to go to the April 2nd show.
My obsession with Das Racist is getting sorta unhealthy. But, I like this. A lot.
Even though I honestly haven’t listened to The White Stripes in years, it still makes me feel a bit…sad? Sad is not the word. But there’s a sense of nostalgia or something when I read this. They used to mean a lot to me at some point in my life. :(
I still can’t figure out what possessed me to hit the play button.
Oh! my poor ears. :(
Loved the song. The video’s pretty good too. Matches the song and all.
Now this is the Conor I know and love. I like this quite a bit.
I was seriously planning on growing old and dying without ever being able to say that I saw Jeff Mangum. Now I can put said plans into a shredder.
It wasn’t too high on my list either. Good album, but I just didn’t dig it too much. And I felt there were a lot better albums that came out last year. I gave it a good number of listens, though, and I’m proud of the fact that I judged an album after listening to it so many times. I simply did not see the “magic.” Maybe one day it’ll hit me. Maybe it’ll never hit me. Oh well…Moving on.
This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I’d have love to have heard the recording of “Gardenhead.” Not that I don’t appreciate all these other tracks. Jeff Mangum just makes me happy.
The Grammys what? I’m not really that interested in watching any award show that involves Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. Just my opinion on this.
Oh.My.Goodness. I’m so excited for the “[b]est sci-fi emo album of the last 20 years!!!” Although I’m seriously gonna cry if this is really the last Bright Eyes album. After all these years, I developed an attachment to those two words. Bright Eyes used to be my favorite band when I was a kid, and I haven’t really grown out that phase yet.
I wasn’t a huge fan of Cassadaga or of Monsters of Folk, but I was really digging those MVB albums. Hopefully BE finds some balance in this one, though I’m not expecting (or wanting) another Fevers or Wide Awake.
As much as I love “Sad Sufjan”, if “this” Sufjan keeps on making videos in sleeveless Nike t-shirts, I don’t think I really mind the “change”…
It should be a crime to look and sound that delicious. It probably is, in some states.
The Get Up Kids were probably the first band I remember really being into, when I was around seven years old. So, hearing this made me very, very, very happy.
I agree with everyone else about a Get Up Kids and Promise Ring Tour.
But more importantly, this BlackBerry Torch commercial makes you want Diplo. Erm…Diplo’s lifestyle and suit, I mean.
I’m also offended by the lack of comedy. “Funny headgear”? Cow jokes? Indian food will give you diarrhea? Seriously? That’s just being offensive for the sake of being offensive. Outsourced is just going to follow Mother Teresa and Slumdog Millionaire in the whole “let’s make fun of India and spread lies just for the hell of it” thing.
I enjoyed reading this Op-Ed. Oh, and yes. Loved the new mixtape!
Anyone else remember that interview from late 2009/early 2010 where Ezra was like “I’d really love to meet this woman on the cover of our album”?
Total change of plans after this one, I guess.
I’m going to pretend that the word Twilight isn’t on this page.
But the soundtrack isn’t that bad. Maybe the same girls who are obsessing over Edward Cullen (a poor stalkerish, abusive, controlling, sexist excuse for a man/character who is the exact opposite of “perfection”. And Cedric Diggory is so much better and my comment inside of these parentheses are really useless) will gain good choice in music?
Never a bad time to spread good music. The world needs it more than anything.
Let me start off by saying I’m a huge M. Ward fan. And I was really excited when She & Him first came out with an album. However, Zooey’s voice is not my favorite thing in the world. I’m forced myself to listen to this enough for it to almost grow on me….well, almost.
Vocally, this band is too much She and not enough Him. A bit more of Him wouldn’t hurt. M. Ward’s amazing. Zooey’s decent. Lucky girl. Married to Ben Gibbard…Working with M. Ward…
Oh well. At least they’re playing tennis.
This seems like it’s going to be a pretty gold video, regardless of who’s in it.
I didn’t even watch this. Growing up, I never felt the need to watch any of the Grammys, either. It just did not interest me. But the Phoenix news is pretty good. It’s the only Grammy-related thing I almost ever cared about. Oh, and that time Cassadaga won a Grammy award for Best Recording Package. That was kinda interesting because I adored all the “hidden” messages and stuff on it. Perhaps that’s too obscure a category…
Hah, I babbled on and on about some program I don’t even watch.

Thom Yorke is very, very, very, very, very, very…sexy.
