represent the PJ! the few, the proud.
i’m not super excited about this re-release. maybe i will be, the cassette thing is kind of cool.
d. it is written
at least that’s what the version that screened at the denver film festival said. i loved the film; this preview makes it look way schmaltzy, yes? the actual film was a lot grittier and fairly brutal. excellent film.
i also saw the new joaquin phoenix/gwyneth paltrow film at the film fest here in denver and it was also a lot darker and sadder, more stark than i expected.
I saw them in a sweaty little Larimer Lounge in Denver a few months back and this was my favorite new song they did….that synth hook (can we call it that?) sticks in your head.
the first and the last cuts should be very good and interesting if they sound like what i’m hearing in my head
devotchka has enough gypsy weirdness to pull it off even though they are nothing like the rest of the lineup. and rod y gab bring class to all they do. nice bookends.
Nice, nice pics Amrit. I always love what you snap.
My two cents as a longtime 10club member is that they take awful good care of their fans, and make it a priority to try and do so. No complaints on this end, “Tim.”
matthew, thanks for the fantastic review. I’d love to see some shows on this tour; holding out for a second leg…maybe out thisaway (west).
that airborne picture is flawless and just became my new laptop wallpaper.

one of the most interesting and thought-provoking pieces i’ve read on any music blog, maybe ever. good work on this one. i’m impressed with Vito even more. honest faith and dedication to service impresses me, as does someone who seems to have a real relationship with god and lives their beliefs without hypocrisy. yay for welcome wagon!
