I had a dream recently that I was in Atlantic City and ended up at the same poker/blackjack table as Billy Zane. I chatted with him for a minute not letting on I knew who he was and then he wished me good luck and I said "A real man makes his own luck" - but he didn't get it! Or refused to acknowledge it. Dream awkward interaction with Billy Zane.

While I agree with that, I think to be invested in Walter White's final arc, we can't do it with Jesse. Jesse is so beloved (except by crazy people who follow the same bb instagrams as me who want "the rat dead") that we won't be invested in Walter battling him, we'd be invested in Jesse battling Walt. He may be around for a little bit longer, but his relationship with Mr. White needs to transform again. I'm making myself sick about Jesse though, I don't know how much more I can take.

September 9, 2013 on Breaking Bad S05E13: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
I think they're all dead (Hank, Jesse, Gomie). I think it's necessary for the story arc - that heartwrenching scene where Walt realizes he's caught and almost looks relieved? And the tear? I texted my friend and said "I can't remember why I hate Walt, help!" and she said "me too!" And now with this ending, it's Walt's fault but it's not his FAULT, you know? Like he didn't want this. And much like season 4 where Vince manipulated me from episode to episode, I'm now reinvested in whatever's going on with Walt in the future. I took a Xanax right before the last scene and it kicked in about 10 minutes after the show ended, which is good because I was literally shaking. I knew something big had to happen, but I am apparently an idiot because I didn't think about the nazis ONCE until my friend texted me that and I actually gasped and then started pacing. RIP Jesse, RIP Hank, RIP Gomie. RIP me, really. I've done nothing today but read recaps and I'm listening to the podcast now. (SORRY WORK).

I have seen an episode of Teen Mom so knowing who Farrah is makes sense. I have never seen an episode of Murphy Brown, yet knew Candice Bergen played her. And I think that there was an abortion episode.

"but to remind everyone that before we even begin talking about Dreamcatcher, Stephen King is for pre-pubescent children. So if you’re a pre-pubescent child, and Videogum readers often are, you can stop reading this post right now and go rent Dreamcatcher. It’s going to be your favorite movie. OK. Adults? Holy shit, this movie is nuts. Let’s go y’all!" When I fell in love with Gabe. Spoke to my soul. Remember the child orgy in IT?

July 2, 2013 on SPOILER ALERT: The Characters In Under The Dome Are Still Trapped Under The Dome
Stephen King wrote this whole thing about the ending to Under the Dome now being different than it was in the book (I complained last week that I hated the ending to the book) so can I spoiler alert the end of the book since it's different now? SPOILER ALERT It's teenage aliens fucking with the humans as if they were children fucking with ants! Then they (humans) use a mind meld to explain to the aliens that they are sentient creatures and so the aliens stop! This would be hilarious and great and I was kinda excited to see it translate to the small screen, but it was less funny after the week or so invested into reading the stupid book. Also the propane was for a meth lab which is different too which is good because Hank would not be cool with that.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I turned 26 in April. Since being a child I've always kinda waited for my birthday to fall on Easter (it was normally around Spring Break) but now, as an atheist I finally googled when that will happen because it's important god damn it and it will be my 64th birthday. So HUZZAH maybe I'll have found Jesus again by then.

June 29, 2013 on I’m Worried About Jennifer Aniston’s And Courtney Cox’s Friendship, You Guys!
I've recently moved in with my fiance, out of a house where I had 4 roommates. This would be fine, but my fiance works nights so I've gone from always being with a friend to being alone a lot. Apparently this has made me depressed, but I didn't realize that until I was talking about how after work my to do list is "remove pants, find Friends, watch until 2 am" my former roommates are worried and consider this a cry for help. Also, April 2.

This actually hurts: What is wrong with this country! Have you never called someone overweight "fat", someone not very attractive "ugly" someone not very smart "stupid"????? they are all nasty words but sometimes when someone is doing us wrong we lash out with "words". That is nothing when you compare it to that person using a "weapon". Who is the victim here? Paula Deen IS!

I used to work as a tax accountant in NJ (where civil unions are legal) so we'd have to file joint state return and then separate federal. It was a nightmare. So I would think that yes - she'll have to pay state tax and this will mostly just make things bizarre and confusing for tax accountants with same sex clients federally married but not recognized by the state. Hopefully marriage equality will spread quickly.

I read the book and the ending infuriated me (because in true Stephen King fashion the ending came after about 1,200 pages of investment and sorry, it was TERRIBLE) - also Junior is hilariously a Stephen King character and the basis of every Stephen King book is that it's not the monsters you have to fear, but the PEOPLE. I mostly watched because I had to stop my rewatch of Breaking Bad to not pass my fiance, and this way I could still enjoy Hank, who I think is going to do a good job with his equally Stephen-King-y character.

Am I too late to do a "favorite line from Can't Hardly Wait" thread? "You know what they say about women and trolley cars. There's plenty of 'em in the sea." Can't Hardly Wait is one of my favorite movies - it makes me sad that Ethan Embry seems like such a doucher.

Does anyone want to talk about Mama? I saw the coming attraction in November and then when I saw it (the trailer) on tv I started having nightmares about it. So naturally I went to see it on an random Monday at like 9 pm so there were like 5 people in the theater. And there's so many plot holes and a really weird CGI wig scene and it's all very silly AND IT'S HAUNTING MY DREAMS. I haven't slept through the night since I saw it. I am terrified to go to the bathroom when I wake up in the night. I hear "mama noises" all the time. Email conversation between me and my roommate: Me: I meant to fix the coat rack this morning before I left and then forgot. I punched it last night. It's my biggest Mama trigger. Her: I'm worried about you. The point being: fuck the Conjuring. Call it Mama 2 and excuse me while I kill myself.

I've been on a cruise twice in my life (neither were poop cruises. well. one was the Backstreet Boys cruise.) both times we were in the cheapest room and would just yell "HOW ARE YOU FINDING THE ACCOMMODATIONS IN STEERAGE, MR DAWSON" among other quotes at each other.

They also came to Seaside Heights one year - they did it twice in the summer (this is preJersey Shore of course) but once for spring break. New Jersey is not warm in the spring. I remember (I think I was in 7th grade) and my mom brought me over to walk by and see what was going on and we were wearing coats and these freezing girls were in bikini tops and shorts and it was like 50 degrees out and cloudy.

January 18, 2013 on A Friendly Chat With Gabe And Kelly: The Spring Breakers Trailer
I had a fish named Gob summer of freshman year of college who got sucked into his filter in a freak accident and died. My 3 sisters and I decided to give him a viking burial and enlisted the salad-maker at the restaurant where 3 of us worked to build the boat. Then we coated it in hairspray and did a funeral march to "The Final Countdown" (but the ringtone version, not the full song) walking him down to the bay. Apparently after a few minutes hairspray stops being flammable, so, I'm standing knee deep in water trying to light the paper boat holding my dead fish surrounded by friends and family (like 5 of us) and this young guy runs up to us, splashing through the water "Yo - are you sparking a bowl? I brought chips" man was he surprised when I responded by presenting him my dead fish and explaining that no, we were not smoking drugs at sunset on a public family beach. Long story short, we called my dad and he brought something more flammable and then we sent Gob out to sea, which was probably not good for the ozone layer. Sorry, Gob and the Earth.

January 18, 2013 on How Was Everyone’s Day Today?
I was teetering on the idea of just being done with Homeland since this season was so bizarre (and the first half of the finale, woof) but then again I'm probably a liar since I'm still watching awful Dexter. But I'm genuinely confused. Are we supposed to be rooting for these two crazy kids to make it in the world? The episode was engaging and interesting but then he's telling her what they had was real and I'm just puking everywhere. Did the writers expect me to swoon there? Feel bad that the star crossed lovers were going to be separated yet again? Barf barf. This needs to be renamed the Saul Show and just be Saul all the time. His character was off the charts this episode.
