I was worried for nothing. Kenny delivered! Humble is my least favorite joint on the album. Mike Will came through on his other two productions. Yah, Feel, Lust, Fear and Duckworth are my favorites after one spin. K Dot is 4 for 4 and continues to be the leader of the new school.
The fact that Aretha had 73 hot 100 entries with no digital downloads or streams is way more impressive. She's still the queen.
Wayne been a fraud. Y'all don't know the history of hip hop. Y'all just like whatever's popular. That's the only reason clowns like this are at the top of rap.
Lol at the pop fans downvoting because they like this bullshit. Stick to indie rock. Y'all don't know shit about hip hop.
This is pop. Not rap. Smh at naming the song "no frauds" when everybody on the track is a fraud. Y'all eat this bullshit up.
Biggie didn't put out albums as frequently as Jay. Jay was dropping every year between 1996-2003. BIG took more time with his material.
That second arrested development album is dope. I don't care how unpopular it was. It's very slept on. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Zingalamaduni
The tidal exclusive was only a week long. It was available on iTunes and physical formats after that.
That award was moreso for Joni than Herbie. Gotta play the game to win the album of the year award at the old white mens ceremony.
Time for him to take a break. His last album was just released 15 months ago. Go away for a while. Let the people miss you.
Good to see him working with Doc McKinney again. That's why the first half of the album is so strong. Second half is kinda weak. It's cool overall.
Nah last two albums weren't that good. Especially the love movement. Hope this one is on par with the first three LPs
Malia Ward surfer girl 😍
Also her album isn't available in physical formats yet: She probably would've sold more if it was.
Wonder why TDE hasn't struck some type of deal to get the other artists albums out in physical formats? Like you said, Kendrick and Q are the only ones with deals with major distributors.
Album needed more diplo
Not buying it. Tip or Ali would have spoke on this already. LA Reid about to throw out some scraps my boys didn't want to release. Trying to cash in on Phife's passing.
This album came right after Dre's "the south got something' to say" comment and boy was he right. Love these guys. Hometown heroes. Best hip hop group of all-time.
Please don't do this gimmicky sh*t, Jay
Too much singing for a guy who can't sing. This is easily my least favorite Drake album. Stick to rapping, Aubrey.
Is This Desire? is my favorite album of hers. Good to see it high up on the list. "the sky lit up" and "the river" are two of my favorite songs.
“I don’t have the cultural background to appreciate being a gangster,” as he explains. “Of course that’s not what it’s all about, but that’s where it comes from. That’s the heart and soul of it. It came from the streets.” All of that is coded racism. Some old white people can't help it. He's basically saying you have to be Black and from the streets to appreciate rap.
putting my pre-order in now
Tip met Dilla before 98. He did production on the beats rhymes and life LP from 96.
Hopefully we'll get a deluxe version of Swish with these Good Friday joints on it.
DJ Premier did not produce Black Opium. He only did the scratches. The song was produced by Black Metaphor.
Pretty sure this came out Nov. 21, 1995 but good article. I agree that this album is just as important as GZA's Liquid Swords.
lol at least talented. He's a real artist. Check out his Black Hystori Project releases. They aren't pushing that at Def Jam. They prefer buffoon (ie. Rick Ross, 2Chainz, etc.)
Should be Snoop if anybody. He'll probably decline though out of respect for Eazy.
