Here is one foreshadowing their new CD:

And here is one with TV Guide (My favorite because of the cutthroat tension):

I promise you that they weren’t on drugs/I can’t wait for Congratulations.

The drummer is just grooving. If you look at other live videos, you’ll notice that is his look. I highly prefer chill drummers to bullshit power-pop drummers who can’t close their fucking mouths and every time they hit a cymbal I want to hit them.

Go download Causers of This by Toro y Moi. Then, buy it in February like I plan on doing. I fucking hate lists and saying that blah is better than blah but that CD gave me the same feeling that MPP gave me. If you think you have him narrowed down as chillwave, then you are wrong. He is much closer to Air or Daft Punk then Neon Indian. In my opinion, the CD has some of the sexiest music I’ve heard since Sade was at her pinnacle.

On a side note, Odd Blood is very good but it should be released with a different track order. I’m sure the order will work in Yeasayer’s favor once it comes out on vinyl (Pop songs/Experimental Song), but I am a CD guy.

That is how I would imagine a gay Steve Zissou.

Dammit Liars!!! I am supposed to be studying for exams and I’ve already played your new song ten times in a row.

Does anyone know if any artists from Warp or Domino records (besides the Arctic Monkeys) have ever been nominated for a Grammy? This could be an absurd assumption, but maybe these labels don’t submit work without the consent of their artists. That would explain a lot. Offense intended, it is a shame that a Death Cab for Cutie EP holds a slot in the Best Alternative Album category. It isn’t the fact that it is by Death Cab for Cutie; it is a f***ing EP!!! Oh well, I guess fans of AC, GB, and DP can look forward to end of the year lists for their deserved recognition.

After last year’s “U.K. Invasion,” they said f*** the U.K. and f*** any artists who hasn’t broken multiple Billboard charts. I mean usually they will have at least one or two artists from different genres in the running for Album of the Year. The artists this year basically have the same fan base. They rarely compare/nominate jazz, americana, folk, blues, reggae and world albums to/over pop albums. If Welcome to Mali was eligible for a Contemporary World nod this year, I feel like it should have been up for an Album of the Year nod, as well. I would have even liked to see Maxwell up for Album of the Year instead of the embarrassing Black Eyed Peas. I guess since the music industry is “struggling” it makes sense for the Grammys to show praise to their most loyal brethren (all AotY albums are platinum certified). As the RZA says on the new Blakroc record, “If it don’t make dollaz, then it don’t make sense.”
