also…
Japandroids was saying on tour they are going to release the follow-up to Post Nothing next year.
Where the fuck is Balam Acab?
I’m glad this tape exists just so it could be in this feature. This is shit is funky funky fresh, yeah?! God damn. And I like Heems going on non-Das tracks – even though I love Das Racist. It’s cool to see him on something different. Really nice tape.
Damn, when I reviewed the self-titled earlier this year (which I loved) I would have NEVER thought that this would happen. So fucking fresh. I’m with you guys – can’t wait to hear the rest.
RIP
Nightswimming deserves a quiet night
The photograph on the dashboard, taken years ago,
Turned around backwards so the windshield shows
Every streetlight reveals the picture in reverse
Still, it’s so much clearer
I forgot my shirt at the water’s edge
The moon is low tonight
Nightswimming deserves a quiet night
I’m not sure all these people understand
It’s not like years ago,
The fear of getting caught,
Of recklessness and water
They cannot see me naked
These things, they go away,
Replaced by everyday
Just got done reading Fargo Rock City and it has convinced me to look up this record and GnR in general. Yeah, I’m pretty young. Appetite came out the year I was born.
Same goes for La Dispute, who are fucking killer. Kind of like mewithoutyou at their more bombastic.

Must say I have to agree with you about Toche and basically any band in The Wave collective. Also, no one knows about Weatherbox….but that’s my little secret so don’t tell anyone.
Pure X, Yuck, and UMO are far and away my favorite and most listened to new artists this year. Fuckin’ stunners – all of them.
WHAT?! NO Action Bronson!??!?! Oh wait….you guys are awesome. Great list!
I really like her songs. I don’t buy into image; I listen to music.
Their self-titled debut is one of my favorite records. I love ever song and every quirk and every lick. It’s simply one of the best indie rock releases, well, probably ever. Having said that, I’ve gotten partway though the album and although it isn’t a return to form, it is a step up from Some Loud Thunder. There are some good tracks, but I also like when they play fast, so there are times when I feel like the album drags. I’m ready to let it start sinking in; and if I hate it, I can always just throw on “The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth.” 7/10 free throws made.
I might give this a chance if it wasn’t the same band who wrote “Up, Up, UP” – which is, in my opinion, the worst indie song of 2K11.
Man, this record is just fucking tremendous. Easily one of the best produced electronic albums of 2K11. What a debut.

I’d rather listen to Balam Acab (jk, but serious, I would).
But this song is pretty great. I mean, what did you expect. It’s Justin singing over a James Blake beat – no brainer. It sounds like it sounded on paper last week.
And if she’s into GG Allin she’ll let you defecate all over her face. Werdz.
whooaa. Man, haha, yeah I totally mistyped. Oh, well.
Pumped for Deakin as well.
Also, am I the only one that’s glad “Drone” didn’t make the album.
He should’ve included “The Preakness” though….
This is amazing. “You Can Count On Me” is a great, great decision for the album opener – it relentlessly drags you into the mindset of Tomboy. I personally love Person Pitch, but I could myself liking this more sonically. It just feels a bit heavier. Can’t wait to let this one soak in with Summer. Best release of 2011 so far….now let’s get that Woods album…
