It’s the highlight of my Tuesday. :( And True Blood was so fucked up last night, I was REALLY looking forward to his thoughts on it.

So, commentors, was everyone else as freaked out by Tara tearing chunks of bloody flesh out of Franklin as I was? Holy shit, that was disturbing!

No wifi at Comic-Con? I really hope that makes it into a Big Bang Theory episode.

SO right! I had no idea the man was so cute. Hot AND funny? How often does THAT happen? Answer: not very often.

Not sure Vikings were too fussy about germs. Or, you know, even knew what they were at that point in history. :)

Well yeah but if they were going to change something that fundamental, why give her the same name and have her live in Hotshot? I think it’ll be the same.

I did that reading the books after the description of someone swallowing after a blow job. As they cry blood in the books, too, my imagination immediately went, ‘oh double ewwww’.

July 16, 2010 on The Videogum Why Don’t YOU Caption It? Contest: Orlando Bloom’s Honorary Degree

He was gorgeous in LoTR and he was hot in Kingdom of Heaven. In this picture he just looks like he needs a good night’s sleep.

And don’t you just love how Jessica immediately knows where to look on the net for ancient runes, and the implication that these ancient mystical things are meaningful to vampires and they know about stuff like that…and meanwhile she doesn’t even know enough about being a vampire to know what to do with a body when you accidentally drink too much of someone’s blood and kill them. Totally consistent and reasonable…

June 30, 2010 on True Blood S03E02: Wait, They Are NAZI Werewolves? Oh Hell.

“I’m sure Alan Ball wrote 50 pages of backstory of this goddamned werewolf”

The details of that deal are straight out of the books. I wish more of the show was. The books are not nearly as crazy-alternate-universe as the show is.

Spike and Eric are both way cool characters. Cooler than lovesick Bill.

The back reads: Why France should consider extradition agreements.

It was either this or ‘Manson’.

This is such bullshit. I’m Australian AND West Indian (born Bajan but migrated) and the ad didn’t even make a ripple with me when I saw it. In this country, that ad is not racist. The black people in Australia are mostly indigenous Australians (and more recently lots of very tall Sudanese). There are some West Indians, but not a lot – and there is no fried chicken loving stereotype to draw on. That ad is not even about a white guy being in a black crowd – it’s about an Aussie being in the middle of Windies supporters during the cricket, where a clear rivalry exists.

I agree with Steve Sanders’ comments above – stop looking for drama where there isn’t any and focus on where the racism really exists.

Actually portraying a Japanese corporate slave would be much more stereotypical.
