Find Me On:
I didn’t like this at all. And yeah, you can criticize me on being small minded, but in my mind there is no other album that has been more significant to my youth and growing years as this album. Same is said for most of the people I surround myself with. I sometimes dig covers if they are well done and stay true to the artist, but none of these covers rocked at all, and, for me, the Strokes were pure rock n roll when this album was made. It’s like a favorite hang out spot you have in your hometown that the city just rolls through and decides to turn into a radioshack and you don’t know what the hell, but you’re sad and you just don’t want that radioshack there at all.
It’s as if someone knew thet exact things I loved about this album, and made a list so that NONE of these musicians would include them in these covers.
I love a lot of these bands/artists. But I do not love this tribute. Quite the opposite actually.
Have you heard the Raconteurs? They are worth more than a god damn.
It’s hard for a performer who feeds off of the audience’s energy to perform well to an audience of prissy celebrities too afraid to look less than bored at everything.
