I also saw them open for Smith Westerns in Chicago and they were a lot better than I expected. Very memorable

well since Yeasayer is so much better than CEG, I think its okay

I don’t think Radiohead fans realize how obnoxious they sound when they tell someone how stupid they are for not liking this or any of their albums. Also there is nothing to “get.” Either it sounds good or it doesn’t. If this were Arcade Fire or Kanye West you would have no problem with people saying it sucks.

I like past albums and a couple of songs on this one stand out as being great, but don’t pretend that someone needs to belong to Mensa to enjoy an album of theirs.

I appreciate you quoting one of my favorite SP songs ever. Even though no one will know what you’re talking about

people will complain either way. if it sounds like their old sound then it turns into “regurgitate the same uninspired sound.” if its a new and adventurous sound then it becomes terrible and people want them to sound like they did on their earlier albums

haha you know what All American Rejects sound like

I wish someone would use examples of terrible lyrics on this album instead of saying that they are “pretentious.” thats the lazy way of saying you don’t like something. Maybe its just me but I thought there was nothing wrong with the lyrics especially in “Suburban War” which perfectly describes friendships kids have growing up with one another

if anything that list of yours just shows how common it is for bands (especially new bands trying to make it) to sell songs to commercials. Its not selling out if its a sign of the times

“It’s weird now that he would pull the name out of the closet to try and market himself under this name again, in order for some grasp at success again”

I don’t think thats the case. He tried other projects like Zwan and a solo album because there was a void in his life. He said in 2005 that he used those other projects to fill the void that SP left and what he realized was that he wanted SP all along. I don’t think hes just desperate for money or attention. maybe when he was in his 20′s that was the case, but as a fan I believe he loves these songs and just wants to continue playing them while he still can.

Also he did give James and D’arcy the opportunity to rejoin and they turned him down and Jimmy was the one who quit in 2009 so I really don’t think its fair for him to give the whole thing up because they no longer wish to be involved.
