they already took the video down. not cool.
i love medulla. “ugly sounding” seems like a poor word choice, especially with someone like bjork. parts of it obviously aren’t supposed to be pleasant (if the “where is line?” video is anything to go by) and I think the parts that are meant to be let’s say brighter perhaps (“oceania” “who is it?” “triumph of a heart”) sound really good. i didn’t get into volta either, but if we really all just find her experimenting just really great and admirable and keep on keepin on you’re gonna get some off-putting results. that’s kind of the nature of experimenting.
also i know she likes john cage and telling a john cage fan “some sounds are worth more than other sounds” is absolute heresy.
hey everyone, rolling stone doesn’t like the music you like as much as you do…ever.
also, I’m a big kanye and drake fan, and i think taylor swift is totally adorable and catchy and I still expected nothing from this list. if you don’t like any of them, you were either born yesterday or felt like bitching because OF COURSE you’re gonna hate this list.
upon first listen, I can’t help but think the Beatles are super famous for making most of this album.
surely this is a misconception that will be corrected after a few more listens?
now that would be cool, phil collins updates! he’s got an album coming out in September with a sweet cover and everything, and I saw no report on it. what’s the deal?
really, really refreshing. stuff like this and the haunting the chapel articles make stereogum cool.
checking out the comments section can be infuriating (did vampire weekend not have the number one album in the country? they’re going to be okay guys, no need to defend them so enthusiastically just because jamie stewart implied they were all “super rich” when they’re really not “that rich”. I mean, of course he doesn’t like them, it’s xiu xiu), but hey at least people are talking.

Die filled my “listening to a very well known wolfmother track” needs. which did not exist because wolfmother is on spotify.
