if you listen to more of his tracks you can absolutely hear those synths.

It’s an 80′s glitched out explosion that somehow makes perfect sense. Loving Com Truise!

Your post about Merriweather Post Pavilion makes me wonder why I am even wasting my time on this site listening to the same music as you.

MPP is good. But its just become the default #1 album of the year. You’re just not cool or you just have no clue if its not your number 1. I may drop it out of my top 10 entirely now.

Cheers.

Just because Billy Corgan can’t get enough Billy Corgan doesn’t mean WE cant get enough Billy Corgan.

I feel like they could have preserved the chimes from the original Signs. Even for just a few seconds.

AWITC and Intimacy are both inferior to Silent Alarm, BUT they are both pretty good albums on their own. I think Silent Alarm will always stand out because it was our first impression. Its classic.

And there she was at the supermarket her long hair flowing through the checkout checking me out. And she bagged the groceries with fear and grace cause she knew she had to feed 6 baby faces at home, on the edge of town and life is hard so I put back the mints I was gonna buy, and then she starts to cry. I said supermarket lady dont get down, the man is running you down, but here we are licking the food stamps of life but who’s gonna bag your groceries and tuck you into bed. Maybe tomorrow when I finish my shopping list, that I cant even read cause I didnt pass the 4th grade cause my dad made me work in the factory and I don’t know how to pick out a good tomato, but who cares supermarket queen woman. I feel your name tag pressed against the cigarettes in my pocket and I wonder if your boss’ll catch us. Young lovers like we were 17, still living the American dream. And you called my name on the intercom and told the whole store that I turned you on, and you felt like going to war and dyin’ for the supermarket life that you hold dear, and I hold you dear.

Spot on Brad.

In making the song for the movie, he obviously knew it would also be used to promote the movie. Its not a big deal anyway. If he is so against his song being used in a commercial, then why is he ok with writing it for the movie. Not to mention that the songs pretty much sounds like a White Stripes rendition of the classic James Bond theme song.

I think most fans agree at this point that commercialism is the only way for artists to get paid for making music anymore. The term “sellout” doesnt mean what it used to.

MIA is a joke. She was never going to retire in the first place. Its just something that people say to get attention in the news. Nobody knows who you are, so the first album that you release that gets any kind of attention, causes you to claim retirement. So what? Are we supposed to beg for more?

Honestly, I think she should let her music speak for itself and stop hiding it behind false claims of retirement and that stupid 80′s overkill gimmick.

The Hold Steady is the most over-hyped band on the market and they don’t live up to even a fraction of that hype.

If you know anything about anything, you know that The Hold Steady is just one of those “cool to like” bands.

Why do bands that I love feel the need to give me reasons to hate them?

So then, I guess an interview with Rolling Stone isnt done for publicity?

Actually, probably not. People would actually have to read Rolling Stone for it to count as publicity.
